Valero Texas Open trophy handcrafted by Malcolm DeMille

In 2019 Valero Texas Open challenged Malcolm DeMille to create a new trophy incorporating aspects of their classic trophy along with iconic elements reflective of their host city of San Antonio. Malcolm and his team kept the continuity of the Valero Texas Open branding by utilizing the Texas shaped crystal and Valero flag, while elevating the design of the new trophy with a stylized composition of San Antonio skyline. The iconic landmarks chosen for this trophy include: The Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral, the Tower of Life, the Tower of the Americas, Frost Tower, Marriott River center, the Torch of Friendship and of course the world famous San Antonio River Walk. The new sculpture stands atop a three-tiered oak wood base that commemorates past champions of the Valero Texas Open going back to 1922. With the Covid-19 induced hiatus of 2020 this beautifully crafted trophy will make its second appearance this week on the PGA Tour at TPC San Antonio.  Keep an eye out for the player that will take home this captivating Valero Texas Open trophy!
