The Club at the Dunes wins Award of Merit from CMAA Wine Society

Naples, Florida (April 5, 2021) – The Club at the Dunes, part of The Dunes of Naples private residential community in Naples, Fla., has been honored with an “Award of Merit” from the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) Wine Society’s 2020 Wine Program Awards. The award was announced by the CMAA Wine Society during the Society’s Business Meeting held in March.

The objective of the Wine Program Awards is to annually recognize the best club wine programs and laud CMAA member-managed clubs that establish and maintain fine wine programs for their membership. The awards are meant to be a hallmark of quality and assurance of an eminent wine program. The Award of Merit and the Award of Distinction are attained by receiving a qualifying score based on the wine menu entry. On the 100-point scale, an Award of Distinction is achieved when a club scores a 90 or above and an Award of Merit is achieved when a club scores between 80 and 89.

The Club at the Dunes has more than 150 selections on its wine list, with 43+ wine-producing regions represented. Members and guests dining at the Club’s Royal Palm Room enjoy a vast inventory of wines totaling over 800 bottles worth nearly $25,000.

“This acknowledgement from our club leadership peers is particularly special,” said Robert Podley, the club’s general manager. “Our sommelier has done an outstanding job at providing high quality wines from all over the world that pique the interest of our membership. We look forward to expanding the list and programming even further over the next year.”

In 2019, The Dunes of Naples completed a $9.2 million Amenities Center renovation and expansion project. The new coastal-themed Amenities Center includes a new 25,000 square-foot clubhouse with the new Royal Palm Room restaurant; a new SandBar indoor/outdoor bar; and a flexible club room for events. In addition, the club’s new Tiki Bar is a popular poolside destination for residents and guests.  As part of the renovation and expansion, the entire pool area was renovated and now includes fire pit tables and a lounge area in a new courtyard. The Club at the Dunes’ wellness and fitness center was also expanded, adding a group exercise room, two rooms dedicated to massages or physical therapy, a new tennis office and pro-shop and a new recreational game room equipped with pool table, ping pong tables and shuffle board.

The Dunes of Naples is comprised of seven high rise towers of high-end luxury condos and 40 luxury coach homes. Troon, the world’s largest golf and club management company, manages the food and beverage operation as well as the recreational amenities at The Dunes of Naples.
