(LONDONDERRY, NH) – ECCO – a leading manufacturer of innovative footwear – announces that Ambassador Lydia Ko captured her 16th LPGA Tour title with a convincing seven-stroke victory at the LOTTE Championship on Sunday.
Wearing ECCO BIOM® G3, the 23-year-old carded four rounds in the sixties en route to a tournament record 28-under-par. The win is her first LPGA win in nearly three years and marks her fourth top-10 in five events.
“I knew it wasn't going to be easy, especially around a golf course like this,” said Ko. “The scores can be really low, and it doesn't matter how far back you are, you can always be in it. I just continued to stick to my game plan.”
Ko’s win helped vault her to the top of the LPGA’s 2021 Official Money List and second in the Race to CME Globe season.
“This victory well and truly proves that Lydia is back at the top of the game,” said Jesper Thuen, General Manager, ECCO GOLF USA. “We are excited to see Lydia back in the winner’s circle, and we look forward to giving her our continued support as she continues to ascend to the top of the world game.”
Ko claimed victory wearing women’s ECCO BIOM® G3, a design which features smooth ECCO performance leather and a waterproof GORE-TEX construction that keeps feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.
The shoe is also highlighted by exceptional support and comfort with ECCO GOLF’s renowned BIOM® NATURAL MOTION® last that combines low-to-the-ground stability with a glove-like fit that is built for natural motion.
In addition to Lydia Ko, ECCO GOLF shoes are worn in competition around the world by Caroline Masson, Minjee Lee, Henrik Stenson, Fred Couples, Erik van Rooyen and Thomas Bjørn, among others. For further information about ECCO GOLF, please visit golf.ecco.com.
