Rain or Shine Golf hires new product manager and digital marketing manager to meet growing demand

Record interest in golf led to massive growth in 2020 and need for expanded staff

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) Rain or Shine Golf – the leading online retailer helping all golfers create their dream golf simulator setup – has hired Jimmy Sweitzer as a Product Manager and Andi Jones as Digital Marketing Manager, to accommodate for the growth and record-setting sales the company experienced in 2020, and to continue to ensure the business is serving customers at the highest possible level.

Both will play a key role in certifying that Rain or Shine Golf meets the growing demand for the company’s products and services, as the brand experienced a year-over-year revenue increase of 123% in 2020. Among the factors associated with this growth was general interest in golf being on the rise nationwide. The National Golf Foundation reported the U.S. golf market saw an increase of 60 million rounds over 2019. Mirroring this surge, golf equipment retail sales topped $1 billion in total for the months of July, August and September, an all-time Q3 record since Golf Datatech started its tracking in 1997.

As Product Manager, Sweitzer will be focused on planning and executing the full product lifecycle of Rain or Shine Golf’s in-house products and will work across all departments to drive customer satisfaction. Sweitzer comes to the organization with a strong pedigree in product management, having worked in various sectors over the past decade. Responsibilities in his new role include conducting market research and analysis, planning product positioning strategy and development, as well as ensuring execution of product launch and post-launch performance.

On the digital marketing front, Jones will help develop, implement and manage campaigns to further promote the brand’s unique products and services. A marketing veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Jones worked in multiple industries before coming to golf with Rain or Shine. In her new position, she will be responsible for planning and executing all digital campaign elements and helping maintain the brand’s social media presence.

Complementing golf’s resurgence in 2020, Rain or Shine increased both its catalog of products from third-party vendors and its lines of proprietary in-house offerings. This provided a tremendous depth of options for customers, making it easier than ever to find the components needed to build an enjoyable and practical at-home simulator, regardless of budget or space restrictions. Various options are available, including simulator packages, launch monitors, hitting bays, golf mats and more.

Among the most popular third-party products offered by Rain or Shine Golf are new, tech-forward indoor launch monitors, which helps make golf, regardless of setting, more entertaining and affordable for everyone. New entrants in the category for 2020 included Uneekor EYE XO and FlightScope Mevo+, which joined SkyTrak in providing customers a wide range of excellent options in the $2,000 to $10,000 price range.

Where the company continues to excel and differentiate itself from competitors is its ability to design and manufacture proprietary products to compliment the aforementioned launch monitors. The most popular examples in 2020 were the SwingBay hitting enclosure and the SwingTurf golf mat. The addition of HomeBay and SwingNet, launched during the fourth quarter, further built the company’s growing portfolio of premium accessories.
