KemperSports hosts nationwide events to recognize 15th annual Patriot Golf Day

KemperSports-managed properties stand with Folds of Honor this Memorial Day

NORTHBROOK, Illinois, May 28, 2021 KemperSports is hosting Patriot Golf Day events at properties nationwide over Memorial Day weekend (May 28-31) to raise funds for Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the families of military men and women who have fallen or been disabled while on active duty. The company has raised more than $900,000 for Folds of Honor since 2013 through via creative programming, events, fundraisers and friendly competitions at its 100+ golf courses and destination resorts across the country.

Founded by Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney, F-16 fighter pilot and PGA professional, Patriot Golf Day is the largest grassroots golf fundraiser in the country, raising nearly $47 million since its launch in 2007.

“We are proud to salute the heroic work that KemperSports has done on behalf of Folds of Honor,” Rooney said. “We are blessed and honored to serve alongside their patriotic team. We could not do it without them.”

Over the years, Patriot Golf Day fundraisers at KemperSports properties have included everything from encouraging charitable guest donations and closest-to-the pin competitions to sponsored golf marathons for PGA professionals and KemperSports staff to play up to 100 holes of golf in one day to raise money for the nonprofit.

KemperSports’ support of Folds of Honor extends year-round. Most recently, in April 2021, the company’s partner Callaway Golf offered a special promotion for KemperSports staff and customers to get involved and contribute to the mission. When members, players or staff purchased three-dozen personalized Chrome Soft golf balls, they received the fourth dozen free, with a portion of the proceeds delivered to Folds of Honor on behalf of KemperSports. The company is also launching a digital donation program this weekend for staff, members and guests to make individual contributions from their phones.

“We are proud to stand with Folds of Honor to support the men and women who have served our country,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We are passionate about supporting important charitable initiatives in the communities in which we operate, and we believe Patriot Golf Day is a fantastic way to support the families of men and women who have sacrificed so much for all of us.”
