FlightScope named official launch monitor of the AJGA

Leading sports performance data analyzer shares tools to improve AJGA college golf recruitment

(ORLANDO, FL)FlightScope – global leader in tracking and analyzing sports performance data – has been named the official launch monitor of the AJGA in a multi-year partnership that will see the company provide the top young golfers in the world a variety of tools to better understand their own performance through data and video capture at all AJGA events.

AJGA members may test FlightScope’s portable Mevo+ launch monitor on-site at more than 100 events throughout the year, as well as the premium X3 launch monitor (used by Bryson DeChambeau and Bubba Watson among others) at select invitationals. Junior Plus Members can record swing metrics and HD video and upload the data into their AJGA Player Center, a virtual dashboard shared with college coaches through AJGA recruiting profiles. This provides AJGA athletes new levels of visibility with actively recruiting coaches.

All AJGA tournaments will feature a three-shot FlightScope skills challenge contested on the driving range. Weekly winners who receive an invitation to the Rolex Tournament of Champions automatically qualify to compete in a year-end skills challenge at PGA National, home of the PGA TOUR’s Honda Classic.

“Through FlightScope’s proven technology we can help these young men and women harness the power of data to optimize their on-course performance,” says Henri Johnson, CEO and Founder of FlightScope. “AJGA members have the potential to compete at the collegiate level and beyond, but only if they can play to their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses, which exactly what FlightScope products help to identify.”

The two organizations have enjoyed a strong relationship and a part of the official partnership includes AGJA members getting special pricing on FlightScope’s range of products, including the aforementioned X3 and Mevo+.

“Technology innovators like FlightScope have completely changed and improved the way young players learn the game, practice and prepare for competition,” says Jason Etzen, Chief Business Officer at the AJGA. “Having a FlightScope presence at our events further enriches the experience for our athletes and allows them to understand the importance of data capture and analysis, while having fun and improving their skills.”

FlightScope ambassadors DeChambeau and Watson are AJGA alumni. During his junior golf career, DeChambeau finished in the top 10 at three national junior golf events. DeChambeau also has five career PGA TOUR wins. Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, compiled 14 top-10 finishes, including two wins, and earned Rolex Junior All-American honors in 1992, 1995 and 1996.

Introduced in 2020, the Mevo+ is a portable launch monitor purposefully-engineered to meet the needs of both avid golfers and players seeking entertainment. The unit works indoors and outdoors and accurately tracks a wide array of data, as well as providing simulations of golf courses and other gamification elements. It uses 3D Doppler Tracking Radar technology to accurately measure 16 data parameters, including: carry distance, ball and club head speed, smash factor, spin rate, spin axis, spin loft, angle of attack, horizontal and vertical launch angle, lateral landing, roll and total distance, shot type, apex height and flight time.

FlightScope’s X3 tracking technology provides several world first benefits to players and instructors, including its ‘Fusion Tracking,’ a combination of 3D tracking and image processing creating unmatched performance data. Newly upgraded software features include Environmental Optimizer technology, another world first which enables players to plan and prepare for specific tournament conditions, without having to leave their home course. FlightScope’s MultiCam App allows golfers to automatically record and sync data from multiple cameras for instant on-screen review.

With accurate, performance-driven technology, FlightScope transforms the way golf is analyzed and how players improve. Beyond DeChambeau and Watson, the company’s renowned products are trusted by a large and growing number of TOUR players and top teachers, including Hideki Matsuyama, Pat Perez, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Charl Schwartzel, Mike Schy and George Gankas, among others.
