Captains Cove Golf and Yacht Club announces new food and beverage director

(GREENBACKVILLE, Va.)Captains Cove Golf & Yacht Club – the recreational community located on the scenic west shore of Chincoteague Bay – announces it’s hired new Food and Beverage Director Jeff Landry.

Landry arrives from Glendale Dining Services where he served as general manager of dining and catering in Falmouth, Maine for Oceanview Retirement Community. A native Mainer, he opened his first restaurant, The Seasons Café, in Lewiston in 1994. In 2009, Landry opened The Farmer’s Table on Portland’s bustling waterfront and in 2012, it was featured on Cooking Channel’s “Eat the Street” with Chuck Hughes. The Maine Restaurant Association named him “Chef of the Year” in 2007.

“This is a brave new chapter for me and my culinary career,” says Landry. “I have only known the northeast and Maine, so coming down to Virginia is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to evolving my craft with the team at Captains Cove.”

Landry will join seasoned professionals dedicated to providing a diverse and first-rate dining experience at Captains Cove.

Opening in 1969, Captains Cove sits on the beautiful west shore of Chincoteague Bay and has been a strong community asset for golf, fishing and kayaking. The nine-hole par-36 course, designed by Lester George, combines a friendly atmosphere for the newer player with a solid challenge for the more experienced as well.

Guests will be able to find Jeff Landry and his team at the Marina Club Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public. Overlooking the bay, the restaurant offers waterfront dining, fine wine, craft beer, delicious seafood and non-seafood options.

“Jeff’s extensive time in the great state of Maine and dedication to bringing fresh ingredients to each guest’s plate will be crucial in expanding our already impressive dining experience here,” says Colby Phillips, community manager of Captains Cove. “He will be able to provide the key insight we need to all aspects of our food and beverage operation, and we have seen the benefits of his presence already.”
