Tiburon Golf Club names new head golf professional

Naples, Fla.  (September 30, 2021) – Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples recently named John Sommers as the club’s new Head Golf Professional. Sommers will lead all golf operations for the 36-hole, semi-private facility located in Naples, Fla. and will focus on member-related golf programs and activities as well as enhancing operational efficiencies.

Prior to being promoted to head golf professional, Sommers had served as Tiburón’s tournament coordinator since 2019. Born and raised in Galloway Township, just outside of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Sommers began his career in golf in 2013 at Seaview Golf Club, a Troon-managed facility in Galloway Township. Sommers attended Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC, playing four years on the golf team, before graduating with a degree in business and economics. After graduation, he became an assistant golf professional going seasonally between Seaview Golf Club and Tiburón Golf Club.
