Replaceable spikes from PrideSports® trusted by winner of PGA Tour’s CJ Cup and more

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., October 19, 2021 – PrideSports confirms the winners of the PGA Tour’s CJ Cup, European Tour’s Estrella Damm N.A. and PGA Tour Champions’ SAS Championship, relied on the company’s replaceable cleats.

Capturing his 20th PGA TOUR title, the 32-year-old winner of the CJ Cup became only the 39th player in history to reach this milestone. To help with traction and stability, the Northern Irishman chose to use the Silver Tornado® from SoftSpikes® in his Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 2 shoes en route to claiming a one-shot victory at the Summit Club in Las Vegas. He was not alone on the leaderboard, as 31 of the top 32 finishers chose replaceable cleats over spikeless shoes.

The Silver Tornado® from SoftSpikes® was also used by the winner of PGA TOUR Champions’ SAS Championship, contested at Prestwood Country Club in Cary, NC. On the European Tour, the Andalucía Masters champion relied on a special metal stinger hybrid in his Under Armour shoes.

“Elite players know that replaceable spikes are the best way to maintain traction and optimize distance, accuracy and overall performance,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports/MacNeill-Pride Group.

Replacement Softspikes® and CHAMP® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from

PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.

CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at and
