Arccos Golf hires David LeDonne as vice president of product

Former Google product manager boasts software, hardware and data expertise, single-digit handicap

STAMFORD, Conn., November 15, 2021 Arccos – the pioneer of big data and artificial intelligence for golf – today announced the hiring of former Google Product Manager David LeDonne as Vice President of Product in a move that will further extend its market leadership position.

A single-digit handicapper with 15 years’ experience leading software, hardware and data project teams at Google, Northrop Grumman and high-growth start-ups, LeDonne will spearhead Arccos’ work to develop innovations that help even more golfers of all skill levels harness the power of their on-course data to play smarter and shoot lower scores.

“As Arccos membership has rapidly scaled, we’ve cast a wide net searching for the ideal individual to lead our product team,” said Steve Obsitnik, Arccos President & COO. “In Dave, we quickly recognized a unique combination of experience, curiosity and a true passion for the game. His role on the Google Flights team working with large scale consumer data sets precisely aligns with our goal of continuing to develop game changing innovations that will impact the growing number of golfers around the world.”

A Notre Dame graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering LeDonne spent almost four years at Google before joining Arccos. In his new role, he will work closely with the company’s software, hardware, data science/A.I., marketing and business teams.

“On-course data has always been a part of my personal golf journey, and for years I manually recorded all my shot data and analyzed it using spreadsheets and a common strokes gained model,” said LeDonne. “When I started using Arccos, I was blown away by the user experience and value it provided to my ongoing quest to improve. The platform is already great, and with nearly 500 million shots in the database, I’m so excited for us to push the product to be even better.”

Golf’s first Artificial Intelligence platform, Arccos Caddie automatically tracks your shots while delivering in-round insights and post-round Strokes Gained Analytics. The system includes the world’s first A.I.-powered rangefinder, smart club distances and caddie advice for every golf hole on earth.

Arccos members have recorded an astonishing 8 million rounds with the system while playing courses in 194 countries. This feeds the world’s largest on-course dataset, which now includes 35 billion separate data points that are analyzed to help golfers perform their best. In 2020, the average new Arccos member improved their handicap by 5.02 strokes.

The Arccos Caddie system and Arccos Caddie Link are Permitted under the Rules of Golf (USGA Decision Numbers 2018-0414 and 2020-0305).
