1/6/21 Burr Ridge, Illinois: The United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA), the 501(C)3 national coalition of adaptive golf organizations, including 39 adaptive golf member organizations across the United States, providing adaptive golf to 40,000 individuals annually of which 26% are combat-wounded veterans, has announced their Members Organization’s tournaments for the 2022 calendar year.
“We’re very excited for this upcoming year with again a large number of para -golf tournaments that are being held for all disabled individuals who wish to compete in the game of golf,” says Edmund “EQ” Sylvester. Sylvester, Chairman & Founder, USAGA. ”Disabled golfers will find a good variety of tournaments throughout the country culminating with our International Para Golf Championship taking place in Dallas, Texas, in October.”

In 2021, the USAGA:
- Offered over 3,000 free adaptive golf lessons in Illinois alone
- Introduced the sport of golf to over 500 youth including the Shriner’s Patient Ambassadors
- Held 250 Adaptive golf clinics at 47 Program sites for wounded veterans & special needs individuals
- Provided adaptive golf equipment to our participants that enabled them to participate in the game of golf; this included a very generous donation from Club Champion
- Assisted 21 tournaments through our member organizations using the USAGR Rankings & Standards and giving our adaptive golfers an equal platform to showcase their skills
- Formed Competition & Women’s Para-Golf Committees
- Partnered with multiple adaptive golf organizations throughout the country to deliver adaptive clinics, increase awareness, and raise funds for their programs including the Spina Bifida Association, North American One Arm Golf Association, Adaptive Golf Iowa & Husome Foundation, Dare to TRI
- Teamed up with Kids Golf Foundation & Nub-ability to provide adaptive golf instruction for over 200 Junior adaptive golfers at Nubability’s annual summer camp
