PGA of America offers Member Service Requirement credits for participation in Women’s Golf Day activities

First opportunity comes at PGA Merchandise Show

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 24, 2022) – With a boom in women’s golf fueled by the pandemic—450,000 new women golfers in 2020 according to the National Golf Foundation (NGF)—timing is ideal for PGA professionals to embrace and encourage women’s play at their facilities.

The Women’s Golf Day (WGD) movement is more than just a one-day event— it’s a celebration of girls and women playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime.  The PGA of America is offering three ways to earn award credits in its Member Service Requirement (MSR) program to PGA Professionals who participate in a variety of activities related to supporting the initiative.

PGA Professionals who participate in person or via Zoom will earn 1 MSR credit.

By hosting a Women’s Golf Day program on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, PGA Professionals have an opportunity to earn 3 MSR credits. This year’s Women’s Golf Day will be conducted at over 1000 golf facilities around the globe and is a four-hour experience where women and girls can experience the sport for the first time or where current players can play and engage with women interested in golf.

“These are great opportunities for PGA Professionals to show their support of Women’s Golf Day, while earning valuable MSR credits,” said Elisa Gaudet, Founder of WGD. “We are grateful to the PGA of America for making these events accredited activities and for their continued support as we all look to engage more women in golf.”
