Streamsong Resort to add fourth course by Coore & Crenshaw Design

Short course planned within walking distance of the Lodge at Streamsong

STREAMSONG, FLORIDA (Jan. 26, 2022) – Streamsong Resort is pleased to announce the addition of a fourth golf course to its award-winning slate of golf offerings. The iconic design team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw (Coore & Crenshaw Design) are partnering again to create the newest venue in the Streamsong portfolio. The fourth course, yet to be named, will be shorter than the three existing layouts (Streamsong Red, Streamsong Blue and Streamsong Black), with early routings that incorporate a six- and 12-hole loop as well as a large putting course.

“On Streamsong’s Tenth Anniversary, Ben Crenshaw and I are pleased to announce that we will again be working with our friends at the resort, this time to create a short course within walking distance of the Lodge,” said Bill Coore of Coore & Crenshaw Design.

The first tees for the fourth course are a short walk from the Lodge at Streamsong. The course winds through the centuries old native oaks, mine cuts and along the banks of Little Payne Creek. Dramatic elevation changes exist on the land bringing drama, strategy and fun into play throughout.

“Comprised of moss draped oaks, lakes and sand-based landforms, the site for the short course is dramatically gifted for golf; and although smaller in scale and different in character from the Blue, Black and Red Courses, we believe the site has the potential to complement the amazing golf experiences that have made Streamsong one of our nation’s most highly acclaimed golf destinations,” said Coore.

The layout will be designed as a walking course where a full set of clubs will not be required.  This new concept will allow guests to play more quickly than a larger or longer 18-hole course and without specified tee markers or a score relative to par. Early routings on the roughly 100 acre site include holes ranging from 70 to nearly 300 yards.

“We are thrilled to work with Bill and Ben on this new short course, and we are equally thrilled that Streamsong’s unprecedented success in 2021 allows us to fund the project with cash generated by the resort,” said Ben Pratt, Mosaic senior vice president of government and public affairs. “We are confident that this addition to the Streamsong portfolio will significantly enhance the resort’s value.”

Pratt continued, “As we approach final designs, we are focused on creating fun and accessible golf that will rival its bigger siblings at Streamsong for quality of design and condition."

Coore & Crenshaw also designed Streamsong Red, which opened in 2012 with “Best New U.S. Course” honors and is perennially ranked among the top 30 courses in the U.S. by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and Golfweek.

“Streamsong has firmly established itself as a truly iconic golf resort, a feat worth celebrating as we approach the resort’s 10th anniversary,” said Steve Skinner, CEO of KemperSports. “A fourth course designed by Bill and Ben is the perfect addition to the resort’s three Top 100 layouts and will further improve the existing unique and spectacular experience for our guests.”

Streamsong is home to the only warm weather destination with three courses in the “Top 50 You Can Play” in the United States, and the only destination in the world with three distinct golf courses designed by legendary architects Coore/Crenshaw, Doak, and Hanse/Wagner.
