Colwood Golf Center recognized with national Player Development Award

National Golf Course Owners of Association honors Portland Parks & Rec facility

PORTLAND (February 11, 2022) – Colwood Golf Center, part of Portland Parks & Recreation (Portland Parks Golf), was named a recipient of the 2022 Player Development Award, announced at the NCGOA annual conference in Orlando, Florida. Each year the NGCOA recognizes a select group of facilities at the national level for their dedication and contribution to golf instruction and growing the game of golf. Jake Bader, Colwood’s Director of Instruction & Player Development, accepted the award on behalf of the Colwood team last week at the annual awards luncheon.

Colwood offers a variety of golf instruction opportunities to all skill levels, taught by certified PGA golf professionals.  Programs include private 1-on-1 lessons, group lessons, junior golf camps, ladies clinics, intro to golf classes, and much more.  The property features a 9-hole golf course, expansive driving range with multiple targets and custom yardage features, and a 6-hole practice course where players can work on their short game or play the short course in a pitch & putt fashion.  These features, along with the dedication and spirit of its professional staff, allow Colwood to produce a nationally recognized, best-in-class player development program.
