Total golf apparel sales over $150M for April

The retail sell thru data is now out for the U.S. Golf Apparel category and we are pleased to see sales up for the third consecutive month. In fact, sales numbers for this category have increased in 21 of 22 months since the shutdown months during the early stages of the pandemic, with the only decline coming in January of 2022.

Total sales were over $150 million for the month of April which is only the second time total sales have eclipsed that mark.  The only prior $150+ million month was June of ’21.

Said Golf Datatech co-founder, John Krzynowek, “Golf Apparel continues to register consistent year over year gains in dollar sales.  After struggling to come out of the immediate aftermath of lockdowns in the early stages of Covid, the various Apparel categories are being driven higher by increased prices more than anything else. In many of the sub-categories, units are down, however that’s being offset by higher retail prices.

While 7 of the 8 Golf Apparel categories were up for the month in value and in total we were up almost 7%, April was a cold, wet month across most golf markets, and we saw Outerwear spike and lead the way, growing by over 30% vs. 2021.”
