Gadsden, Ala. (June 2, 2022) – Gadsden Country Club, a private facility located in Gadsden, Ala., recently welcomed Curtis Ohrn as the club’s new Director of Golf. Ohrn will oversee all golf operations for the 18-hole private club located northeast of Birmingham.
Ohrn has 20-plus years of golf and hospitality industry experience. He most recently served as the director of golf at FarmLinks Golf Club in Sylacauga, Alabama. Prior to FarmLinks, Ohrn was the lead assistant golf professional at Shoal Creek Club in Birmingham for eight years. Early in his golf career, Ohrn worked at golf facilities throughout the state of Georgia.
“The opportunity to get back into the private club world is what intrigued me about the position here at Gadsden Country Club,” said Ohrn. “The way I was treated from the start made the decision to accept the job that much easier. My family and I could not be more excited for our new start. The people of Gadsden and the members of Gadsden Country Club are so hospitable and have welcomed us with open arms.”
A graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Ohrn has been a Class-A member of the PGA of America since 2011.
“Out of almost two dozen highly qualified applicants, Curtis was our clear choice,” said Gadsden Country Club General Manager Mike Cook. “We were very impressed with not only his resume, but his ideas. When everyone on our search committee had him listed at No. 1, we knew our choice would be easy. We are very excited to have him on staff and look forward to the ideas and new life he can bring to our golf program.”
