Ahead spring 2023 men’s and women’s apparel available to buyers

Microprints and new color palettes highlight latest collections

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (Aug. 22, 2022) – As in past seasons, ahead’s Spring 2023 apparel collections take customers out of their comfort zones, while keeping them feeling confident and polished on the golf course.

As more and more new golfers embrace the game, Anne Broholm, CEO, ahead, said her company continues to evolve to meet their preferences, while still appealing to its longtime, loyal customers.

“Golfers have the desire to look good and feel comfortable,” she said. “While they may appreciate trends, our customers don’t feel the need to chase them. They embrace unique colors and patterns used in subtle ways to enhance their style, not announce it. Our Spring 2023 collections for men and women are designed to evoke a feeling of cohesiveness among the collection.”

The Spring ’23 prints have layers of character and dimension, starting with the three new collections for men.  Microprints continue to have their moment, particularly among the newer golfers.  All three collections feature whimsical prints, including ukuleles, surfboards, palm fronds and crustaceans, that seamlessly coordinate with other pieces in the mix.

Seagrass, Sunrise & Flint. Tropical Rain Forest was the inspiration for this group. Seagrass green and deep gray (Flint) are heightened by pops of coral (Sunrise).  The three colors blend subtly and harmoniously for a look that easily transitions from the office to the course.

Conversational prints continue to drive ahead’s fashion assortments this season. Each polo is enhanced with contrast piping at the back neck for a color pop. Natural texture is evoked in the new LaPalma polo with palm fronds encased in vintage texture. The fun and lively motifs in the Strummer (ukulele print) promise to be popular.

Slate, Vineyard & Oyster. Buzzard’s Bay evokes a quintessential New England coastal feel, fitting for a company that has called Massachusetts home since its inception. The softened blue of Slate and Oyster gray pair together perfectly with the occasional hint of faded Vineyard red. In celebration of its coastal heritage, ahead’s designers created a tone-on-tone nautical-themed print featuring sailboats and compasses (the Cuttyhunk polo).

One of the season’s more talked-about pieces, the Crustacean polo, is inspired from hand-painted art and is a modern spin on a classic.

Canal, Mellow Yellow & Carbon. Being whisked away to the Island of Oahu in a sea of blue is the inspiration behind this group.  Freshness and fun vibes are found in easy-to-wear Canal Blue and sparks of Mellow Yellow.

Youthful vibes take charge in the fun and festive florals of the Mona Kea polo, while ocean spray is evident in the surfboard print of the Surfs Up shirt.

There are new offerings in ahead’s Essentials line, with an updated fabric that possesses a softer feel, cooling properties, accelerated moisture wicking, and odor control.  All of the Essentials styles work seamlessly back into the three collections.

Ahead also is introducing three new mid layer options for men: Potter, Winehouse, and Cornell. They envelop the wearer in luxury and style — perfect for a cool day. The Potter is a dip dye, gradient, available in White/Grey as well as True Navy; the Winehouse comes in Oyster, Coastal Blue, and Ember with a subtle stripe; and the lightweight Cornell in Coastal Blue, Bay Blue, Vineyard, and Ember.

Camouflage quilted vests in two new colorways were added to the outerwear offerings for this season, an excellent addition for cool spring mornings.

For women, two new collections are being unveiled for Spring ’23:

Peach, Lilac & Blossom. This group was inspired by the color palate and terrain of the Arizona desert. Blended patterns in hues of Peach, Lilac and Blossom are a hazy oasis in the arid climate.  The tops have updated necklines, reflecting the golf and athleisure crossover.  Trend right skorts are offered in a leopard print and tie dye.

Sky Blue, Denim & Rouge. The tropical sophistication of the Florida Keys is evident in this group’s easy-to-wear mini plaid print and striking colorful abstract. Women who opt for this collection will strike a balance between looking carefree, yet classy. New details on the tops include contrast tipping on the neckline and sleeves and a racer back silhouette.

Women also have an attractive midlayer piece, the Brandi, which debuts in six colors: White, Rouge, Black, Denim, White Camo, and Sky Blue Dot.

A new casual hooded sweatshirt, the Twilight, is offered in three colors: Blossom, Navy, and White.  The cotton and spandex fabric is soft to the touch, with a bit of give.  Each hoodie has matched roping and a kangaroo front pocket.

Three new patterns have been added in the popular Idalia sun shirt line, all with SPF.
