GREENWICH, Conn., Sept. 6, 2022 – Global sports marketing agency Outlyr announced today the appointment of longtime PGA of America executive Ryan Cannon to executive vice president, joining the company’s core executive team.
Cannon will help guide Outlyr’s overall strategy and operations of its global sports and lifestyle events portfolio, including the company’s LPGA Tour, PGA TOUR and college events. In addition, he will help build new business opportunities by leveraging Outlyr’s core competencies in event management, sponsorship consulting and activation services. He will report to Outlyr Managing Partner Tim Erensen and Partner Andy Bush.

Cannon brings a wealth of event production, operations, philanthropy and leadership experience from his 21-year tenure at the PGA of America. Most recently, he served as senior director, PGA REACH, the 501 (c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America with a mission to Impact Lives Through Golf. He directed the overall strategy of all PGA REACH activities, including operations, fundraising, programming and communications, while elevating PGA REACH to one of the most impactful charitable organizations in golf.
Prior to PGA REACH, Cannon served as Championship Director for multiple PGA Championships, including 2016 at Baltusrol Golf Club, 2013 at Oak Hill Country Club, 2011 at Atlanta Athletic Club and 2008 at Oakland Hills Country Club. He began his tenure at the PGA of America in operations, serving as operations manager for the 2004 Ryder Cup at Oakland Hills Country Club and operations coordinator for the 2001 PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club.
Cannon graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.B.A. in marketing, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University. He currently resides in Frisco, Texas with his family and will work out of Outlyr’s Dallas office.
