ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2022) – NBC Sports Next’s round-up technology, which has generated nearly $2 million for charity since its launch in 2021, is partnering with the Latina Golfers Association Foundation to help raise funds through its TeeOff tee-time booking platform during Hispanic Heritage Month, beginning Thursday, Sept. 15.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2008 to promote golf among Latina women, the LGA strives to make the sport more accessible to Latinas, while empowering them with networking opportunities and business skills. The popularity of the organization has grown to more than 5,000 members and Latina golfers now can participate in LGA events in cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston and Dallas. Funds raised by the TeeOff round-up campaign will help to support LGA efforts, including local golf clinics, junior golf tournaments and events that bring members of all ages and abilities together.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, TeeOff will invite anyone booking a golf tee time through the online service the opportunity to round up the total cost of the reservation to an even-dollar figure. For example, if the cost of a tee time totals $37.45, the golfer can elect to round up the cost to $38, donating the additional $0.55 to LGA.

“Golf is a sport that transforms lives,” said LGA Founder Azucena Maldonado. “We want as many as possible to become a part of the universal golf family that brings us together. The Latina Golfers Association Foundation thanks golfers everywhere for making it possible to share golf with girls and women from underrepresented communities.”

TeeOff’s online tee-time marketplace connects millions of golfers with tee times at golf courses worldwide. The round-up campaign is a part of Better Together, a community impact initiative supported by NBC Sports Next. Similar round-up campaigns on GolfNow have helped raise funds for Youth on Course and the non-profit organizations aided by the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative.

“As the golf industry continues to mature, it’s important that the sport finds innovative ways to embrace different communities to help the game grow,” said Jerramy Hainline, senior vice president and general manager, Golf, NBC Sports Next. “We’re honored that we can use our know-how as the industry’s technology leader to join with the LGA to support its mission to promote diversity and more accessibility within the game.”
