(LOS ANGELES, Calif.) – The first annual LOHLA SPORT Tournament of Club Champions will be played on December 1, 2022 at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California.
The competition will be between 36 current gross ladies club champions of golf and country clubs which carry LOHLA SPORT, the premium ladies’ golf-lifestyle apparel brand. Invitations will be extended in early October
LOHLA SPORT ambassador Annika Sorenstam is scheduled to welcome players at an opening reception at LOHLA SPORT’s new showroom and warehouse offer swing tips on the driving range during player warm-ups, present the championship trophy and participate in other activities, including a fireside chat and fashion show.
"Our Tournament of Champions is the first of its kind in golf,” says Lisa O’Hurley, Founder and CEO of LOHLA SPORT. “Comeraderie and competition among the best lady golfers representing many of the best clubs across America, with Annika as my co-host, will be a time they soon won’t forget – nor should they. Winning a Club Championship is formidable, and I want these ladies to feel like the champions that they are!”
The new tournament expresses appreciation for the more than 250 fine golf shops experiencing outstanding sales of LOHLA SPORT tops, bottoms, skorts and outerwear which seamlessly transition from the course to the office and social settings.
Sherwood Country Club is the ideal tournament setting, boasting an 18-hole, championship golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and a magnificent Georgian architecture clubhouse. It hosted the PGA TOUR-recognized World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods, from 2000 to 2013; the Shark Shootout; and the Showdown at Sherwood, the first-ever primetime live golf match between Tiger Woods and David Duval. Most recently, Sherwood hosted the Champions Tour’s Powershares QQQ Championship and the PGA TOUR’s ZOZO World Championship.
LOHLA SPORT continues to excite the ladies golf market since its debut in January 2021. Its current, autumn-winter “Winter Wonderlands” collection has exceeded projections by more than 100%. The product line-up, revered for its European designs with L.A. flair, takes the names of four-seasons destinations known for converging swanky fashion and active lifestyles: Lake Tahoe, Vail, Park City, Stowe and Aspen.
Also impressive are golf shops’ inventory turns of LOHLA SPORT’s spring-summer “The Streets of Los Angeles” collection that’s eclipsed forecasts by more than 200%.
Brand staples include the universal The Very Pant, a four-pocket bottom with four-way stretch. The Golf Fitness Pull-On Pant is worn stand-alone (akin to a workout tight) or under skorts in the fall for added warmth and décor, and is purposely thicker, becoming the perfect golf-yoga pant. Both styles are country club appropriate.
LOHLA SPORT’s colorful and resort-sporty styles come in sizes XXS to XXL. Cuts are flattering yet not overtly sexy, made of fine-quality fabrics sourced worldwide and optimize athletic movements. Its comfortable-chic, made-for-play aesthetic is attracting a massive following as the company creates a “Golfleisure” movement akin to Lululemon and the “Athleisure” craze.
ESPN, Forbes, Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine, Golfweek, NBC Sports and others praised the brand’s refreshing looks as well as designers Lisa O’Hurley and London-based Paul Rees, formerly of Burberry and Aquascutum fame.
