PXG® deploys All-American, special-edition Stars & Stripes 0311® 3X Forged Wedges

Exclusive design promotes the company’s commitment to powerful performance and unwavering patriotism

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (October 11, 2022) – PXG has deployed special-edition Stars & Stripes 0311 3X Forged Wedges. The exclusive design pays homage to the company’s military roots with a striking, laser-etched pattern against PXG’s Xtreme DarkTM finish.

“Our 0311 3X Forged Wedges are super sleek. With a confidence-inspiring design, they deliver powerful performance from virtually any turf condition,” said PXG Founder & CEO Bob Parsons. “The new Stars & Stripes edition brings an even bolder statement to the course and shows our unwavering patriotism. We’re forever proud to be an American company!”

PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons’ U.S. Marine Corps roots are a cornerstone of the PXG brand – from the company’s MOS-inspired club naming convention and Darkness® insignia to its PXG for Heroes® Program and philanthropic partnerships with organizations like Team Rubicon and the Semper Fi & America’s Fund. The new special-edition wedge design furthers the company’s commitment to honoring its all-American roots.

PXG’s stunning Xtreme Dark finish is first created using an advanced process called Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) coating.  DLC coating creates a hard, graphite-like, carbon-based exterior that significantly extends the reasonable lifetime of the clubhead. Unlike the typical black PVD used by other equipment manufacturers, DLC coating is a three-layer process that includes a chromium base, a carbon-chromium mid layer, a high-carbon top layer that is approximately 3/25,000 of an inch thick. This produces extraordinary wear resistance and a flawless look without influencing club performance relative to how the ball reacts.

The laser-etched design is then achieved using precision laser technology. The sophisticated technique leverages adjustable power and focus settings to create a more complex laser etching applied to the visible layer of metal, creating a multi-dimensional pattern. This process ensures the metal remains completely intact, long-lasting, and resistant to abrasion, ultimately not affecting the clubhead’s performance.

PXG 0311 3X Forged Wedges are engineered from a high-grade 8620 soft carbon steel to deliver an outstanding sound and feel. They feature precision milled grooves designed at the USGA limits to help golfers hone their short game. The patented Full Face Groove Technology expands the hitting area for shots played toward the toe side of the face to help golfers land shots soft and maximize ball control. High Toe Weighting Technology creates a high moment of inertia by positioning the center of gravity more in line with open-face shots to achieve exceptional consistency.
