OnCore Golf’s Vero family of balls notches another tournament win

Domenico Geminiani wins 2022 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship

(BUFFALO, N.Y.) - OnCore Golf congratulates PGA professional golfer Domenico Geminiani on winning the 46th National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship under challenging conditions while playing OnCore’s new VERO X2.

Geminiani shot a 6-under (74-67-68-73) defeating both Riley Wheeldon and Brian Bergstol by three strokes on the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The tournament field battled 30 mile-per-hour winds for the full four days of the event.  In ball testing by Golf Digest, Golf Monthly and other noted media outlets and equipment evaluators, the VERO X2 has demonstrated a wind-penetrating trajectory due in large part to OnCore’s patent-pending perimeter weighting.

“It’s actually a surreal moment in my career as I just made an equipment change last week to the VERO X2,” said Geminiani. “The X2 has a great soft feel around the greens, solid impact feel and it was real steady in the wind, which I really needed as it was one of the windiest weeks that I can remember.”

OnCore Golf has had success this year with numerous wins including Andy Pope at the 76th Florida Open Championship playing the VERO X1, and Louis Kelly at the 102nd New Jersey Open Championship playing the VERO X2.

“Domenico’s story is inspiring and, we believe, validating as his change in equipment to OnCore Golf’s VERO X2 led to an immediate success,” said Keith Blakely, CEO. “He did his research on and off the golf course, testing OnCore balls against the biggest brand names in the industry. The initial result was a switch to the VERO X1 and, more recently, to the VERO X2. We encourage golfers of all skill levels to do the same and offer an online ball-fitting to help guide them to the most likely ball for their game”.

The VERO X2 is a modified version of OnCore’s VERO X1, one of the most highly-regarded, high-performance direct-to-consumer golf balls in recent years.  Engineered using a proprietary core formulation and manufacturing process, it boasts a high modulus, metal-infused mantle connected to a thin, cast urethane cover by a nano-engineered transition layer. The VERO X2 has a higher compression rating than the VERO X1 – 95 vs. 85 – and firmer feel optimal for players with higher swing speeds.

The VERO X2 delivers low driver spin and a high, wind-penetrating trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy.  The ball delivers an optimized spin profile with irons and a trajectory engineered for stopping power on firm greens.  With OnCore’s patent-pending perimeter-weighting technology that significantly reduces sidespin and bores through headwinds and crosswinds, the ball is without peer in challenging conditions.
