Major champions, Hall-of-Famers and past champions headline early commitments for the 2023 Chubb Classic; military and service personnel to receive complimentary admission compliments of Servpro; tickets on sale now at www.ChubbClassic.com

NAPLES, Fla., Jan. 27, 2023 – 2021 Chubb Classic champion and former Naples resident  Steve Stricker will make his return to the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, Naples’  flagship PGA TOUR Champions event taking place Feb. 13-19 at Tiburón Golf Club’s Black  Course.

Stricker, who won the season-opening PGA TOUR Champions event last week at the Mitsubishi  Electric Championship at Hualalai, captured the 2021 Chubb Classic title by one stroke over  Robert Karlsson and Alex Cejka at 16-under par. Stricker was unable to defend his title in 2022  due to an illness that kept him out of action for the first half of the season. When he returned to  competition in the summer, he won four PGA TOUR Champions events, including a senior  major. He was recently awarded with the 2022 Ben Hogan Award by the Golf Writers  Association of America (GWAA), recognizing an individual who has continued to be active in  golf despite a physical handicap or serious illness.

Joining Stricker in headlining the latest wave of early commitments include major champions  Ernie Els, Jim Furyk and Tom Lehman.

“We are looking forward to celebrating the legends of the game at the Chubb Classic in  February, and we are excited to welcome back our 2021 champion Steve Stricker to the field,”  said Sandy Diamond, executive director for the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO. “With  the additions of Stricker, Els, Furyk and Lehman, the tournament is shaping up to feature one of  the strongest fields in recent history.”

Els, elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2010, has recorded 74 professional wins  worldwide, including four major championships. He made his PGA TOUR Champions debut in  2020, and has two victories. He finished T10 at the 2022 Chubb Classic.

Furyk, who also made his PGA TOUR Champions debut in 2020, has 29 professional wins  worldwide, including the 2003 U.S. Open and 2021 U.S. Senior Open. He serves as tournament  host for the annual Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS PGA TOUR Champions event, held in  October. Furyk finished T38 at the 2022 Chubb Classic.

Lehman, a 12-time PGA TOUR Champions winner who has amassed 35 worldwide professional  victories, is a former World No. 1 and is the only golfer in history to have been honored as  player of the year on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and Korn Ferry Tour (then  Web.com Tour). Lehman, who is seeking his first Chubb Classic win, finished T26 in 2022.

They will be among a 78-player field featuring major champions, Hall-of-Famers and past  champions competing in the 54-hole championship Friday-Sunday, Feb. 17-19, for a share of the  $1.8 million purse. Previous commitments include defending champion Bernhard Langer, Hall of-Famers Retief Goosen, Sandy Lyle and Colin Montgomerie, as well as past champions Scott  Parel, Joe Durant, Lee Janzen and Kirk Triplett. Players have until 5 p.m. ET on Feb. 10 to  commit to the Chubb Classic. GOLF Channel will televise live all three rounds of play.
