Southern California PGA renews partnership with College Golf Experience

Partnership creates experiences that connect college coaches, juniors, and parents

ONTARIO, California – The Southern California PGA has renewed its partnership with College Golf Experience (CGX), an organization that is exclusively endorsed by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). This partnership will provide thousands of SCPGA’s Junior Tour members and parents the opportunity unprecedented access to college coaches and education about collegiate golf and the recruiting process.

“This partnership will help lead the SCPGA’s 5,000+ Junior Tour players and their families down a path to finding their fit and their spot in college golf,” said CGX CEO Joshua Jacobs. “Our goal, working in tandem with the SCPGA, is to create Showcase Camps, Tournament Preview Camps and education events in Southern California that bring together college coaches, players and parents to break down the college golf education barrier.”

CGX Camps offer a tremendous opportunity for young men and women ages 10-18 to learn from and interact with multiple coaches in an immersive and fun setting. 40 percent of CGX camps consist of education seminars with open Q&A on all things college golf and the pathway to get there, 50 percent on-course engagement with coaches with real-time feedback, and 10 percent skill development and challenges similar to the way coaches practice with their teams. Parents are invited to participate and engage every step of the way at the camps.

CGX and SCPGA will also co-develop joint marketing efforts to promote camps and sectional junior tour events together while helping to build awareness among junior golfers and their parents on how to achieve their goals.

“The SCPGA is thrilled to continue our partnership with the College Golf Experience. Navigating the world of junior and college golf can be complex and tedious, but CGX’s camp experiences, which incorporate college golf coaches, makes the journey less daunting. We look forward to our extended partnership with CGX in providing those opportunities to the members of our SCPGA Junior Tour,” said Nikki Gatch, PGA - SCPGA Executive Director/CEO.
