Youth on Course and Malbon announce design competition to inspire authenticity through art

Youth on Course has partnered with Malbon to present the “Me & Buckets” design contest.

(MONTEREY, Calif.) –  Youth on Course — the non-profit organization ensuring all youth have access to play, work, and learn through golf – has announced its latest collaboration, a design competition with innovative lifestyle brand Malbon Golf. With a shared belief in bringing your full, authentic self wherever you go…especially to the golf course, young creators, including Youth on Course members, will have the opportunity to show the world what makes them shining stars in the Me & Buckets design contest.

Participants will transform Malbon’s iconic Buckets logo into a work of art that is true to their own personality and represents what makes them unique. Focused on authenticity, the competition is open to youth ages 18 and under. “Maya Angelou, the late poet, dancer, singer, activist, and scholar expressed that ‘you can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.’ Every shot in golf provides an opportunity to think creatively and I’m excited for all of our YOC members and any young person who wants to participate, to continue developing their creativity by putting their own spin on Buckets” says Michael Lowe, VP of Programs for Youth on Course.

Submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel led by Malbon Founder, Stephen Malbon, along with some of golf’s most talented designers and creatives. “Authenticity and creativity is a driving force behind Malbon Golf and this partnership is helping to provide today's youth with the opportunity to showcase their talent and personality,” says Stephen Malbon, founder of Malbon Golf. “We can’t wait to see Buckets reimagined and are excited to select a winner that will be celebrated and seen on courses and golfers everywhere.” 

Two finalists will be selected, with the grand prize winner’s original artwork being featured on a range of official Malbon merchandise set to launch globally in the Fall of 2023. Proceeds from their sale will be donated to YOC to help provide more kids with affordable access to golf. The grand prize winner and a chaperone will also be flown to showcase their creation at a special event in the Fall of 2023. To learn more and submit a design for a chance to win, click here.
