Southwest PGA and College Golf Experience announce renewal of partnership

Partnership focused on bringing together college coaches, juniors, and parents.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Southwest PGA is pleased to announce it has renewed its partnership with College Golf Experience (CGX), an organization that is exclusively endorsed by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The partnership will provide the Southwest PGA’s Junior Prep Tour, Firebirds Development members and parents the opportunity for unprecedented access to college coaches and education about collegiate golf and the recruiting process.

“We are very excited about our continued partnership with College Golf Experience,” says Bernie Eaton, Executive Director of the Southwest Section PGA. “CGX’s expertise and opportunities provided for juniors nationwide is extremely valuable. Those resources provided to the entire membership of our Southwest PGA Junior Prep Tour and Firebirds Junior Golf Development Club will continue to benefit them as they progress through their playing careers.”

CGX Camps offer a tremendous opportunity for young men and women ages 10-18 to learn from and interact with multiple coaches in an immersive and fun setting. Forty percent of CGX camps consist of education seminars with open Q&A on all-things college golf and the pathway to get there, 50% on-course engagement with coaches with real-time feedback, and 10% skill development and challenges similar to how coaches practice with their teams. Parents are invited to participate and engage every step of the way at the camps.

“This partnership will help lead the Southwest PGA’s Junior Prep Tour, Firebirds players, and families down a path to finding their fit and their spot in college golf,” says CGX CEO Joshua Jacobs. “Our goal, working in tandem with the Southwest PGA, is to create Showcase Camps, Tournament Preview Camps and education events in Arizona and Las Vegas that bring together college coaches, players and parents to break down the college golf education barrier.”

As part of their continued partnership, CGX and the Southwest PGA will also co-develop joint marketing efforts, to promote camps and sectional junior tour events together while helping to build awareness among junior golfers and their parents on how to achieve their goals.
