SCOTTSDALE, AZ (August 23, 2023) — True Spec Golf LLC is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Club-Conex LLC., has reached an agreement whereby it will be the exclusive distributor for all All-Fit Golf adapter products in the United States.
The third-party adapters that have flooded the market in recent years are commonly mistaken for authentic Club-Conex adapters. These counterfeit adapters are largely from unlicensed entities in China that infringe upon Club-Conex’s portfolio of United States Patents. Through this new agreement, Club-Conex can ensure that only licensed All-Fit products will be sold in the United States, and that All-Fit will continue to have access to the U.S. club-fitting market without infringing on Club-Conex’s intellectual property.
“We appreciate the loyalty of our partners while we have dealt with industry-wide challenges presented by counterfeit adapters that have entered the market,” said Ryan Richardson, President and COO of True Spec Golf, the parent company of Club-Conex.
Richardson added: “I’m thankful that we were able to come up with a solution that doesn’t prevent All-Fit from being used in the U.S., but rather allows club fitting companies that had been using counterfeit adapters, to now proceed without having their business disrupted.”
Details Of The Agreement
This agreement comes after Club-Conex launched two enforcement actions against Top Golf Equipment Co. Limited (operating as All-Fit Golf) and its affiliates at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). As a result, in December 2022 the ITC found that Top Golf Equipment and its affiliates’ replicas of Club-Conex’s Faz-Fit and Fuse-Fit adapters violate two of Club-Conex’s patents and prevented their importation into the U.S. In May 2023 the ITC also found that Top Golf Equipment and its affiliates’ All-Fit universal adapters for drivers and fairway woods violate a third Club-Conex Patent.
As a part of Club-Conex’s agreement with All-Fit Golf, Club-Conex will offer preferred access and pricing to all of their Club-Conex and licensed All-Fit adapters through their membership program. Membership will not only allow member-locations to purchase Club-Conex and All-Fit Golf connectors, but it will also provide member-locations with a license to continue to use any previously-acquired All-Fit adapters for the duration of the membership period. Club fitters who are not members of the Club-Conex loyalty program will not be licensed to use the infringing All-Fit adaptors and may not continue their use.
The deadline for existing locations to apply for new accounts is September 7th, 2023; new club-fitting locations that begin operations after September 7th, 2023 will need to open an account prior to beginning operation.
