Trout National - The Reserve announces Ian Leggatt as general manager and chief operating officer

Industry veteran and former PGA Tour player to lead all operations at world-class golf club

(VINELAND, N.J.) – Trout National - The Reserve, a world-class golf club collaboration between Mike Trout, the three-time American League MVP and 10-time Major League Baseball All-Star, and local partner and businessman John Ruga, announce the appointment of industry veteran, Ian Leggatt, as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. In his role, Leggatt will be tasked with overseeing all hospitality and operational aspects of the Southern New Jersey private club.

“Ian has a proven track record of leading teams at some of the best private clubs in the world,” said Trout. “His passion for the game of golf and commitment to providing exceptional and memorable service to our members will be a huge asset to the club.”

“I’m incredibly honored to lead the team at Trout National - The Reserve,” said Leggatt. “The opportunity to bring Mike and John’s vision to life at a Tiger Woods-designed golf course is a dream come true.”

Prior to leading club operations at Summit Golf Club, St. George’s Golf and Country Club and La Gorce Country Club, Leggatt served as Vice President of Golf at Wasserman Media Group. He enjoyed a successful playing career from 2000-2009 that included one PGA Tour career win at the 2002 Tucson Open and one Buy.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) win at the 2001 Dayton Open. He is a four-time member of the Canadian team at the World Cup Golf Championships and was named Canadian Golfer of the Year in 2002. His star-studded playing career led him to be elected to the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame in 2013.

The championship 18-hole golf course designed by Tiger Woods’ design firm, TGR Design, Trout National - The Reserve is routed through two unique natural landscapes giving distinct character to the course. Large and undulating greens with low-cut surrounds emphasize the challenging, yet fun design where risk-reward opportunities create the ideal environment. In addition, the club will include a wide array of innovative amenities, including a flexible short course and expansive putting course along with world-class practice facilities and performance center. Other club highlights include a modern, state-of-the-art clubhouse, five-star lodging, chapel and more.
