Rounds played at public access courses were up 0.4% for the month while private courses were off -1.4%. Interestingly, on a YTD basis, public courses are performing much better than private, +4.6% vs. +2.2%.
On the latest figures, GDT co-founder John Krzynowek said, “August rounds played managed to squeak out the smallest possible increase, +0.1%, even though the weather turned against many parts of the country with weather disturbances ranging from hurricanes to extreme heat to floods. On a YTD basis, rounds remain up a healthy 4.1%.”
