TMRW Sports bolsters team with sports & media industry veterans

Adds expertise from NFL, NBA, MSG, PGA TOUR, Vinik Sports Group, NBC, Turner, IMG, MLS, AEG and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment

October 12, 2023 – (Orlando, Fla.): TMRW Sports, which is focused building progressive approaches in sports, media, and entertainment that inspire the modern sports fan to create deeper connections with technology and culture, has announced key staffing additions with years of experience in the sports and media industry. New additions span some of the most important and iconic brands in sports and media including NFL, NBA, MSG, PGA TOUR, Vinik Sports Group, NBC, Turner, IMG, MLS, AEG and Kroenke Sports and Entertainment.

TMRW Sports new hires include: 

Scott Levine, Chief Financial Officer – A licensed CPA with more than 20 years of experience in the sports/finance world, Scott joins TMRW Sports from Vinik Sports Group, owners of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Amalie Arena, where he was Vice President of Finance and Accounting. Prior to Vinik, Scott was the CFO for Sunrise Sports and Entertainment, owners of the Florida Panthers and the BB&T Center. He will report to TMRW Sports founder and CEO Mike McCarley.

Scott’s career also includes positions with MSG, BASE Entertainment, Time Inc., and the Walt Disney Company. He is a graduate of SUNY – Albany.

Yared Alula, Deputy General Counsel – Yared joins TMRW Sports as the company’s Deputy General Counsel where he reports to Christopher Murvin, General Counsel. Yared comes to TMRW Sports from the PGA TOUR where he spent 10 years, most recently as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. While at the PGA TOUR, Yared worked across a variety of and TOUR initiatives including as lead attorney for business development, corporate partnerships and USA Golf. 

Prior to his time at the PGA TOUR, Yared was a senior attorney for the National Basketball Players Association and an M&A associate with Latham & Watkins in New York City. He received his B.A. in mathematics and economics from Emory College and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Chris Reimer, SVP, TGL Communications – Chris joins TMRW Sports as the Senior Vice President, Communication for TGL where he will oversee all aspects of communications for TGL presented by SoFi. He reports to TMRW Sports founder and CEO, Mike McCarley. Chris has more than two decades of experience leading communications efforts in the golf industry. He most recently ran his own PR firm, CR PR Group, which focused on helping companies, events, and athletes bring their stories to life. 

Prior to opening his own firm, Chris spent nearly 20 years at the PGA TOUR, most recently as Vice President of Championship Management Communications. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona where he spent three years on the school’s football team. 

Michael Drazin, Vice President, Broadcast Engineering – Michael joins TMRW Sports as its VP, Broadcast Engineering where he will report to Jeff Neubarth, Vice President, Media, Production. Michael comes to TMRW Sports with more than two decades of broadcast engineering experience, comprised of production, distribution, integration, station group, and network. 

Michael has worked on some of the most iconic events in sports and entertainment, including Super Bowls, Olympics, The Masters, and Academy Awards. Michael holds a degree in media management from Emerson College and is the recipient of five Emmy Awards.

Humberto Fernandez, Vice President, Client Services and Activations – Humberto comes to TMRW Sports from GMR Marketing where he was led the partnership strategy and evolution across Comcast’s sponsorship portfolio, which included more than 80 marketing partnerships in sports, gaming, NASCAR, music, and Olympics. He reports to Katy Mollica, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Partnerships. 

Prior to his time at GMR, Humberto held partnership marketing positions at both the NBA and Major League Soccer. He holds a B.A. from Purdue and an M.B.A. from Notre Dame.

Maureen Broughton Murrah, Vice President, Licensing – Maureen joins TMRW Sports to oversee the company’s licensing and merchandise. She will report to TMRW Sports Chief Marketing Officer, Jarrett Dube. Maureen spent more than a decade as the Vice President of Licensing at IMG Worldwide where she oversaw sports, fashion, and consumer brands for the No.1 global licensing agency with more than 200 licensees and key properties The PGA TOUR, Kentucky Derby, Arnold Palmer and Salt Life.

Maureen’s wide-ranging career also saw positions at Nike, Danskin and iParty.com. She holds a B.A. in fashion design from the American College of the Arts. 

Clay Schroeder, Chief Architect – Clay is a highly-accomplished technology leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning major global organizations. He joins TMRW Sports full-time as the company’s Chief Architect where he has responsibility for enterprise architecture and venue technology. Clay has served as a consultant for TMRW Sports since April 2023. He reports to Andrew Macaulay, Chief Technology Officer. 

Prior to joining TMRW Sports, Clay was the Chief Technology Officer for Brinks Home Security.  Clay holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University. 

TMRW Sports has elevated Katie Fitzpatrick to SVP Construction and CFO Studio and Production. In her role, she will oversee the construction of the new SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. She additionally will serve as TMRW Sports CFO for our Studio and Production subsidiaries. She will report to Robin Eletto, Chief People and Facilities Officer.

About TGL presented by SoFi

TGL presented by SoFi is a new golf league that fuses advanced tech and live action with six teams of PGA TOUR stars across a season of matches in prime time starting on Tuesday, Jan. 9, on ESPN and ESPN+. SoFi Center is TGL’s purpose-built arena in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on the campus of Palm Beach State College. Technology is a foundational element of TGL, offering fans a progressive, shorter format presentation of team golf, featuring some of the PGA TOUR’s biggest superstars. Currently, 19 players are committed to play in TGL, including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick, Keegan Bradley, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler, Sahith Theegala, Tom Kim and Billy Horschel. With currently 11 of the top 20 players in the world, this initial list of committed players has won 30 major championships, 202 PGA TOUR wins, 118 International victories and collectively has ranked as the World No. 1 for 886 weeks.

  • TGL Teams: The six TGL teams will each have four players assigned. A TGL match will feature three players competing for each team in a modern match-play format.
  • Custom-Built Venue: SoFi Center is a first-of-its-kind experience for golf enabled by a data-rich, virtual course paired with a tech-infused, short-game complex. 
  • Tech-Enabled Fan Experience: High-energy, greenside fan experience with every shot live within a two-hour televised match. All TGL players will be mic’d up.
  •   Inaugural Season: 15 regular season matches followed by semifinals and finals matches, on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN+ in the U.S.

Team names, brands, front office staff and assigned players will be unveiled later this year, as will the inaugural schedule and other operational and fan-centric elements of TGL presented by SoFi. Currently four of six team ownership groups have been announced:

  •   Atlanta Drive GC: led by Arthur M. Blank, AMB Sports and Entertainment (Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, PGA TOUR Superstores)
  •  TGL Boston: led by John Henry, Tom Werner, Mike Gordon, and Fenway Sports Group (Boston Red Sox, Liverpool FC, Pittsburgh Penguins, RFK Racing)
  •   Los Angeles Golf Clubled by Alexis Ohanian (Angel City FC), Seven Seven Six, Serena Williams, and Venus Williams; as well as limited partners the Antetokounmpo brothers, Alex Morgan, Servando Carrasco, and Michelle Wie West
  •  TGL New York: led by Steven A. Cohen (New York Mets), Cohen Private Ventures
