High levels remain for Golf Rounds Played

The latest Golf Datatech National Rounds Played Report with results for October 2023 is published today. The three-page report contains year over year results for eight regions, all states and several metropolitan areas.  US rounds were down -1.0% for October 2023 but still up +3.3% year to date (YTD) when compared to October 2022.

With only two relatively small months to go, rounds played will likely end higher than in 2022. Importantly, rounds played are well ahead of pre-pandemic levels, up over 16%.

GDT Summary

October weather was on par with countrywide norms, and, as a result, golf rounds played maintained near level with last year.  The east coast had exceptional weather and each of the major markets performed well, while the center of the US struggled with heavy precipitation.

Overall, demand for golf remains strong, and unless there is a significant weather issue in December, rounds should end the year in good shape.
