2023 Troon Challenge National Finals come to dramatic conclusion

Indian Wells, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2023) – The National Finals of the 2023 Troon Challenge sponsored by Callaway Golf and presented by Cincoro Tequila came to an exciting conclusion over the weekend at Indian Wells Golf Resort in Indian Wells, Calif.  68 two-person teams (136 golfers) represented their home clubs in the National Finals, competing in both Gross and Net Divisions over the 36-hole two-day event, held December 16 and 17 on Indian Wells Golf Resort’s Celebrity and Players courses.

In the Gross Division, the team of Nick Randazzo and Adam Petrocelli from the regional qualifier at Bayonet and Black Horse in Seaside, Calif. shot rounds of 61-64 (125) to finish in first place. In the Net Division, the team of Al Joe Trevino and Vince Dominquez representing The Rawls Course at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas shot rounds of 59-61 (120) to win in a scorecard playoff over the team of Dustin Mullens and Kevin Genevro. The winning teams each received crystal championship trophies, Odyssey White Hot OG Putters, $100 TravisMathew Gift Cards, 1 dozen Chrome Soft Callaway Golf Balls and 2024 National Foursome Troon Card.

Now in its 21st year, the Troon Challenge is Troon's largest amateur golf event open to men and women amateur golfers across the United States. Regional qualifying for the Troon Challenge took place from May through October at 34 facilities in 11 different states with more than 1,500 golfers competing in the modified two-person best ball format. Winners of the regional qualifiers (low gross and low net) received invitations to the National Finals.

Troon developed the Troon Challenge in 2003 as a way for amateur golfers to compete in fun, competitive, well-run golf events at Troon-affiliated facilities. The National Finals have been held in warm weather destinations in late November or early December since the event’s inception, and provides qualifiers with an opportunity to play for prizes and bragging rights.
