GolfForever Play Without Limits Show welcomes two-time major winner and Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson

2007 Masters, 2015 Open Championship winner talks improbable career heights, Ryder Cup captaincy and what keeps him motivated after 20 years on the PGA Tour

Aspen, CO – The GolfForever Play Without Limits Show proudly welcomes Zach Johnson, two-time major winner, 12-time winner on the PGA TOUR and 2023 United States Ryder Cup Captain, as the special guest on its newest podcast episode. Johnson joins host and longtime friend Jon Levy, GolfForever’s VP of Communications and Strategic Partnerships, to cover a fascinating range of topics, including an inside look at worked and what he would do differently at last fall’s Ryder Cup in Rome. He also waxes nostalgic with Levy, his former college golf competitor turned roommate during the pair’s mini-tour days, before getting into heavy-hitting topics like PGA TOUR loyalty in the era of LIV Golf defections and other controversial topics in golf’s current landscape from which Johnson does not shy away.

If the PGA TOUR held a player draft, Johnson firmly admits he wouldn’t have been a heralded first-rounder. However, when he captured the 2007 Masters, he became the first player outside of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings since its inception in 1986, and he began to build an enviable career marked by consistent play and uncompromising grit. Johnson’s consistency has led to him qualifying for five Ryder Cup and four Presidents Cup appearances to go with his dozen victories over an 11-year span and more than $48.5 million in career earnings.

The 48-year-old GolfForever Tour Athlete was also generous to give insight on some of the secrets to his success. "I have always liked to avoid the mentality of maintenance, shifting to a mentality of improvement. With that, you're going to push yourself to a point where you're going to surprise yourself, which is exactly where I'm standing right now. Being comfortable in the uncomfortable is important if you want to make massive strides. When I've seen Tiger, he has always pushed himself so hard. Back in the day especially, he pushed his preparation so much that when he was in a tournament Thursday through Sunday, it was easy. That preparation beforehand was what made him grow," Johnson explains.
