GolfPass’ award-winning women’s history month social campaign returns to spotlight women making an impact in golf

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 5, 2024) – GolfPass, NBC Sports Next’s comprehensive digital membership and video streaming platform, is bringing back its award-winning and innovative Women’s History Month social campaign, “Celebrating Women in Golf,” this March, honoring the inspirational women making strides in golf and encouraging women to take up golf in whatever capacity fits their lifestyle.

Now in its fourth year, this annual campaign was created to spotlight every aspect of golf and to showcase the range of women steering the sport, from golf course owners to touring professionals to recreational golfers. Data from the National Golf Foundation shows that women now represent 25% of all on-course golfers. GolfNow also recently did a study of its own, the New Era of Golf, which showed a tremendous increase in various demographics playing golf — in fact, 49% of the people surveyed were women.

“Celebrating Women in Golf” not only will highlight this amazing growth and golfers’ stories through customized content, but emphasize the need for more diversity in the sport and to elevate women in golf year-round.

As part of this year’s campaign, GolfPass is proud to unveil two new series. The first show, Celebrating Women in Golf Top Tips, will premiere on March 5 and will feature renowned professional golfers and GolfPass instructors Nathalie Sheehan, Blair O’Neal, Aimee Cho, Debbie Doniger, Michelle Winkler, Katie Dahn and Cindy Miller sharing helpful tips and insights on improving your golf game. This show will be followed up by Golfer’s Guide: Swing Sequencing, starring Sheehan and premiering on March 19, focusing on the best strategies to build the perfect golf swing sequence.

[1]  Diversity within golf has never been more prevalent and we’re excited to showcase women who are championing the sport in one of its fastest-growing segments,” said Amanda Norvell, Senior Vice President, DTC Services & Portfolio Marketing, NBC Sports Next. “The roles of women inside the industry are just as diverse as those who play the game and we’re thankful we’re able to share their stories.”

GolfPass and NBC Sports’ On Her Turf will support each other, as well, through a series of Instagram collaborations, social shares, and email newsletter inclusions, increasing awareness and traffic to their respective platforms.

Returning elements from last year’s campaign will notably include video interviews from LPGA Tour standouts, including Ally Ewing, Danielle Kang, Jennifer Kupcho, Lydia Ko, Maja Stark, Rose Zhang, who will share their favorite sports memory or pieces of advice they would give to their younger selves before going pro. The campaign will also have weekly Instagram takeovers by NCAA women golfers starting on March 6, including Lauren Clark (University of Kansas) and Phoebe Carles (UNC Asheville).

Other highlights coming back include:

  • LPGA Tournament Winner Spotlights stemming from the HSBC Women’s World Championship, Blue Bay LPGA, FIR HILLS Seri Pak Championship, Ford Championship presented by KCC
  • LPGA Tune-In Support on GolfPass social channels
  • Editorial features on GolfPass.com
  • Spotlights on partner golf courses across GolfPass, GolfNow, and OnHerTurf social channels

Lastly, to further support GolfPass’ mission of recognizing the iconic women who break boundaries and redefine the realm of sports, Rotten Tomatoes has debuted a new list of “The 10 Essential Women’s Sports Movies” in conjunction with this new campaign. The list will feature rousing and path breaking titles like A League of Their Own and Bend It Like Beckham, and drive back to GolfPass’ Women in Golf campaign.
