Fore Hire announces details for second year of successful ‘Women Who Want to Work in Golf’ program

Presented in partnership with the PGA of America and hosted by Callaway Golf

Building on the success of two “Women Who Want to Work in Golf” events in its inaugural year FORE  HIRE announced today that it has solidified dates for its 2024 program, which was created for former  and current college golfers who are interested in pursuing a career in the golf industry.

The program provides a unique opportunity for education, professional development, career  advancement and connection to potential employers. It is also designed to increase awareness of the  availability of talented women looking to enter the golf business.

“Women Who Want to Work in Golf” sessions are May 19-21, 2024, and will be held in conjunction with  the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship in Carlsbad, California. The program is presented in  partnership with PGA of America Career Services and is hosted by Callaway Golf. It has been created in  collaboration with the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.

“Callaway is honored to host FORE HIRE’s upcoming ‘Women Who Want to Work in Golf’ event.  Together, we’re driving excellence and empowerment by creating a game-changing experience for all  participants,” said Laura Lewis, Senior Director of America Sales-East and Chair of the company’s  Employee Resource Group, TCB Women with Drive.

Participants will engage in various activities, including a tour of Callaway Golf headquarters, plus  insightful seminars, networking sessions, and workshops to prepare them for the next steps in their  career. Participants will also learn about the career opportunities across the industry.

To be eligible, applicants must have played women’s college golf at any level during their college career  and must be seeking full-time employment or an internship in the next 12 months. Women of all ages  are encouraged to apply. Those selected will be awarded a stipend for travel, hotel, meals and  entertainment. The deadline to apply is April 2 at 6 p.m. ET.

“Aside from the camaraderie and information-sharing sessions, I think it is great to get so many  thoughtful women into the same room and introduce them to all the opportunities that are around the  game that we all love,” said FORE HIRE President and Founder Courtney Trimble. “I’m excited for the  sponsors of the event to see that there are so many talented women looking to enter the golf industry.”

The success of the two events last year created more demand for this year. Of the participants from last  year, 25 of the 60 have become employed or accepted an internship and more than 30 different

organizations sponsored the event and sent key people to attend and participate. Ten percent of the  participants have pursued PGA of America membership.

The program’s objectives remain to raise awareness of the opportunities available within the industry;  increase understanding of skills necessary to secure specific positions and provide an opportunity to  network and connect to opportunities for employment.

“We look forward to sharing our industry insights with all the ambitious and talented guests who will be  in attendance,” said Callaway Golf Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Engagement,  Mackenzie Mack, a PGA of America Golf Professional. “As a former Division I golfer myself, I’ve seen how  incredible this industry is to work in, and the tremendous career opportunities it provides. We’re thrilled  to support a great program that is making such a positive impact for so many amazing women.”

Applications for the program are open now. Click here to apply. Deadline is April 2 at 6 p.m. ET. For more  information, contact Courtney Trimble at info@forehireus.com or visit our website.
