Mizuho Americas plans inaugural Mizuho DrivHER Summit; USGA accepts 3,019 entries for U.S. Senior Open

United States Golf Association: Accepts 3,019 entries for the 44th U.S. Senior Open, which will be played for the first time at Newport (R.I.) Country Club, June 27-30. This year’s entry total surpassed the 3,000 mark for the fifth time and is the third-highest in championship history. The record was established in 2002, when 3,101 applied to play.

Giants Ridge: The Biwabik, Minnesota, destination announces the opening of its public golf courses on May 3. Giants Ridge boasts two of the highest-ranked layouts in the state — The Quarry and The Legend, both designed by course architect Jeffrey Brauer. To commemorate the beginning of the golf season, Giants Ridge re-introduces its popular 37-Hole Golf Special package, which includes golf on both courses and is $190 on weekdays, $215 on weekends.

Mizuho Americas: Introduces the inaugural Mizuho DrivHER Summit, an event, developed in conjunction with Girls Inc., that will be held on May 15 at the LPGA's Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. The program will feature panels and presentations from various speakers, along with hands-on leadership training, team building, and career development activities. Speakers will include Michelle Wie West, former LPGA player and tournament host; Mollie Marcoux Samaan, LPGA commissioner; and Stephanie J. Hull, president and CEO, Girls Inc.
