HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., May. 6, 2024 – Srixon’s Taylor Pendrith secured his first PGA Tour victory Sunday at The CJ CUP Byron Nelson.
Pendrith finished the tournament at 23-under-par, one stroke clear of the field, after posting a closing round of 67. His performance was highlighted by a bogey-free 63 in the third round, which included back-to-back eagles, that helped him secure a solid lead heading into Sunday’s final round.
“I’m super thrilled, it’s amazing, I’m shaking,” Pendrith said after the win. “I obviously haven’t had my best stuff this year, and to have my family here through everything is super special. Meg is my biggest support system, and to have this little guy [son, Hayes] with me is amazing.”
Pendrith’s Wedge play was a major contributor to his success in Texas. The victory secured Pendrith a spot in the PGA Tour’s upcoming signature event at the Wells Fargo Championship.
