Golfpac Travel/Hidden Links supports Evans Scholars Foundation

Donations help support youth caddie scholarships

August 1, 2024 — Golfpac Travel/Hidden Links is proud to announce its support of the Western Golf Association (WGA) and Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF) through the donation of $40,000 in trips this year for auctions at WGA events.

“The Evans Scholars Foundation aligns beautifully with our goals and initiatives to use golf as a means to give back to support kids in various ways. To be a small part of what the Evans Scholars Foundation does and represents in golf is both fulfilling and meaningful,” said Marc Bender, Managing Partner of Golfpac Travel and Hidden Links.

Established by the WGA and famed amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans Jr., the ESF provides full tuition and housing scholarships to high-achieving caddies across the country. Known as one of golf’s favorite charities, the Evans Scholarship Program is the nation’s largest scholarship program for caddies, and in the 2023-24 academic year, a record 1,130 caddies were enrolled at 24 leading universities nationwide as Evans Scholars. More than 12,000 caddies have graduated as Evans Scholars and more than $500 million in scholarships have been awarded since the Program’s inception in 1930.

"We’re extremely grateful to organizations like Golfpac Travel and Hidden Links for their support of our mission," said Bill Kingore, WGA executive vice president. “Their generosity will go a long way in making an impact on youth caddies and our Evans Scholars.”

Adam Wachter, Managing Partner of Golfpac Travel and Hidden Links said, “The Evans Scholars Foundation is an amazing program that offers educational opportunities to those youth who will be leaders in our industry. As golf grows in popularity among a new generation, we look forward to seeing these young professionals thrive.”

Bender and Wachter jointly said, “We are extremely thankful to our many key partners who joined us in this effort such as Waldorf Astoria Orlando, Magic Village Resort, Shingle Creek Golf Club, Grand Cypress Golf Club, Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Golf Club, Casa de Campo Resort and Villas, Troon North Golf Club, We Ko Pa Golf Club, Sunridge Canyon, Talking Stick Golf Club, Adero Scottsdale Resort, Canopy Scottsdale Old Town, JW Marriott San Antonio and TPC San Antonio.”
