Silverado Resort And PGA Tour’s best deliver exceptional Procore Championship

Napa, Calif. (September 17, 2024) – Silverado Resort’s famed North Course delivered another exceptional PGA TOUR tournament for golfers and fans alike as the Procore Championship wrapped up this past weekend in Napa. Patton Kizzire shot a final-round 70 on Sunday to claim his first victory in over six years, finishing at 20-under par and five strokes ahead of David Lipsky.

PGA TOUR professionals enjoyed their week at Silverado Resort, including Kizzire who said after the final round, “A lot of interesting memories here. I love the golf course. I love the people. There's great food, great wine, great golf course. What's not to like?” 

2023 U.S. Open Champion Wyndam Clark said of Silverado Resort, “I've always really enjoyed this golf course.” While, Luke Clanton, the world’s top amateur golfer who was playing in the event on a sponsor’s exemption said after his practice round, “I played the front nine yesterday and played the back nine today and it's an incredible golf course.”

Voted the most fan-friendly event on the PGA TOUR, fans at this year’s Procore Championship enjoyed the new Visit Napa Valley Fan Village located between the 1st green and 13th fairway. The Fan Village featured concessions, beverages, a wine bar showcasing multiple varietals from well-known Napa Valley wine producers, a large LED screen to catch the action on the course, picnic table seating and restrooms. Fans also enjoyed the new 1955 Club, a shared hospitality venue located on the 18th green with an exclusive viewing area of the finishing hole, a fully shaded winery-themed tent, along with hosted lunch and afternoon snacks, beer and wine (including daily premium tastings from Alpha Omega, Amulet Estate, Freemark Abbey, and Revana Family Vineyard), outdoor theatre-style seating, as well as high-top tables and chairs.

Since KSL Capital Partners acquired Silverado Resort in 2022, the company has made a series of upgrades to enhance the golf experience, including:

  1. Advanced Turf Maintenance Equipment: A $1.5 million investment has been made in state-of-the-art turf maintenance equipment. This includes fairway mowers, greens mowers, precision GPS sprayers, and various utility vehicles to help ensure pristine course conditions.
  2. Enhanced Golf Cart Paths: Significant upgrades have been made with 9.8 miles of asphalt cart paths converted to durable concrete and 1.3 miles of service roads repaved, improving accessibility and longevity.
  3. Upgraded Driving Range: The driving range tee has been expanded to 36,000 square feet from 27,000 square feet and now features 20 new Turf Hound artificial turf hitting surfaces and a rebuilt practice bunker, enhancing usability during adverse weather conditions.
  4. Bridge and Pond Improvements: Upgrades include new decking and railings on two bridges, a completely replaced bridge, and a new stormwater culvert. Ponds have been cleaned and maintained with new aeration systems to ensure optimal water quality.
  5. Updated Golf Course Signage: All tee and wayfinding signage has been refreshed with approximately 120 new signs and upgraded tee markers, improving course navigation.
  6. New Pavement and Electrical Upgrades: Modernized electrical systems accommodate new battery-powered equipment, and bathroom facilities have been upgraded for improved guest comfort.
  7. New Fleet of Golf Carts: Silverado has introduced 130 new E-Z-GO golf carts, including two electric beverage carts and two electric utility vehicles, providing a modern and eco-friendly riding experience.

The Procore Championship was the first event on the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Fall schedule and featured a field of the PGA TOUR’s elite and rising stars. Set in the heart of wine country, the 2024 tournament marked the 11th year the TOUR has played an event at Silverado Resort, combining the best of Napa Valley golf, food, wine and fall harvest weather.
