Upper Deck Golf returns to Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia

Special event welcomed J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship recipients as special guests

Nov 18, 2024 — Upper Deck Golf returned to Citizens Bank Park, November 13-18, and hosted a special event honoring the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship recipients.

The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust helps financially aid and empower young caddies to pursue higher education. Upper Deck Golf’s invitation to the Platt Scholars shows the strong support for these dedicated students and their commitment to both school and the game of golf. By giving scholars the chance to enjoy this unique experience, Upper Deck Golf recognizes their hard work at local GAP member clubs and celebrates their accomplishments as they continue their pursuit of higher education.

Marc Bender, Managing Partner of Upper Deck Golf said on his behalf and on behalf his fellow Managing Partner Adam Wachter, "The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust represents all we believe in to support junior golf and young caddies pursuing higher education. These pictures show you what a great time the scholars had! Both GAP and J. Wood Platt do an awesome job working with these kids and we are thrilled to support their initiatives in any way that we can.”

To date, more than 4,000 young men and women have received $28 million in aid from the Trust. And in addition to financial aid, The EMPOWER program supports caddies by: helping them to fine-tune their résumés; providing leadership training; offering mentorship opportunities: assisting with internship placement; and arranging service projects.

"Upper Deck’s support not only acknowledges our Platt Scholar's achievements at GAP Member Clubs, but also encourages them as they work toward their higher educational goals," said Mark Peterson, GAP and J. Wood Platt Executive Director.

As the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship recipients took their first swing at Upper Deck Golf, they enjoyed breathtaking views, dazzling amenities, and a staggering array of special features at the award-winning Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies. All participants enjoyed a great week of golf and an experience unlike any other.

Upper Deck Golf offers the opportunity to play a round of golf inside iconic stadiums including hitting shots from the upper deck inside professional sports stadiums like Ohio Stadium, Wrigley Field in Chicago, Dodger’s Stadium in Los Angeles, among many others. Participants enjoy a special experience while hitting tee shots from the stands throughout the stadium, down to custom greens on the field below. The fun starts and concludes at the clubhouse festival inside the stadium with great music, refreshments, and multiple golfing challenges.

With Hall of Famer Sir Nick Faldo as an ambassador of Upper Deck Golf and Cleveland Golf as an exclusive equipment provider, participants are sure to have a top-notch experience. And the best part is participation in Upper Deck Golf events helps support Upper Deck Golf’s official charity: Stand Up To Cancer.

Upper Deck Golf offers corporate packages, as well as local, regional, and national sponsorships available for those enterprises looking to get their brand out in front of a new audience of golfers.
