By Jack Burris, Managing Director, Buffalo Groupe

Jones Saylor, a Bluffton, South Carolina native, found his passion for golf early in life. At the age of nine, he made the switch from baseball to golf and never looked back. Despite being self-taught, Jones excelled, playing junior golf and leading his high school team to the State Championship several times.

His leadership and talent on the golf course caught the eye of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and Bucky Dudley, Charleston resident and Congaree Ambassador, leading to a nomination for the prestigious Congaree Global Golf Initiative camp. Initially hesitant, Jones applied and was selected, opening the door to a life-changing opportunity.

At Congaree, Jones learned about Coastal Carolina University's Professional Golf Management (PGM) program and the scholarship opportunity offered by the 319 Society, through Mr. Mike Pruitt. The program's emphasis on family and support resonated with Jones, and he was grateful for the scholarship that made his dream a reality. The 319 Society's mission to make golf more accessible and provide career opportunities in the golf industry aligned perfectly with Jones's aspirations.
