GALLOWAY, N.J., May 19, 2025 – Tournament officials at the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer announced today several new enhancements and initiatives at the 2025 edition of the championship that are designed to help athletes with the costs often associated with competition. These changes, including the creation this year of ‘Team ShopRite’ reaffirm a commitment to women’s golf and highlight a new and expanded multi-year partnership with ShopRite, the longest-running title sponsor on the LPGA Tour.

“We believe in empowering women athletes and creating opportunities for them to shine on and off the course, and sometimes that involves making sure they have the resources they need to compete,” said Mike Stigers, president of Wakefern Food Corp., the supermarket cooperative and logistics, merchandising and distribution arm for ShopRite stores. “We want to create a lasting impact by supporting women golfers, engaging fans and helping grow the great game of golf. The ShopRite LPGA Classic is the perfect platform for us to do that, and we look forward to an exciting tournament that inspires the next generation of players.”

“The LPGA Tour is extremely thankful for the continued support of all partners involved in the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer,” said Liz Moore, Interim LPGA Commissioner. “The tournament has a dedicated history that aligns with our mission of using the game of golf to empower, inspire and advance opportunities for girls and women through its events on and off the golf course. We are looking forward to another outstanding year in Atlantic City.”

Atlantic City’s largest sporting event and one of the longest-running events on the LPGA Tour schedule, the ShopRite LPGA Classic is returning for its 37th year in 2025, taking place June 2-8 on the Bay Course at Seaview, A Dolce Hotel in Galloway, New Jersey. New initiatives this year include ‘Team ShopRite,’ which will provide sponsorship and financial support to five deserving golfers as they chase their dreams on the LPGA Tour circuit and play the game they love while also reflecting ShopRite’s commitment to giving back to the community.

The five players who will be a part of the inaugural year of Team ShopRite include LPGA Tour winner and Solheim Cup veteran Cheyenne Knight; Junior All-American Gianna Clemente; LPGA rookie Caley McGinty and LPGA professionals Gurleen Kaur andBrooke Matthews, who recently embarked on their LPGA careers.

Each player on Team ShopRite will participate in tournament week activities during the ShopRite LPGA Classic and other charitable events throughout the year. In addition, they will represent the ShopRite brand with a logo on their collars and participate in player appearances with ShopRite during the year.

Entire Field to Receive Complimentary Lodging Accommodations
Also new for 2025, the entire tournament field competing in the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer will receive complimentary lodging accommodations throughout tournament week, courtesy of title sponsor ShopRite.

“The ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer has become a signature kick-off event for the summer on the LPGA Tour schedule,” said Michael Taft, executive director for the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer. “The tournament features some of the greatest names in the game as past champions, and also has kick-started the careers for many of the LPGA Tour’s current stars. ShopRite has been a tremendous partner in elevating women’s sports and giving back to the community, and we look forward to our partnership for years to come.”

“I’m honored to be joining Team ShopRite. They have done so much for the LPGA and charities, which are values I share,” said Knight. “The ShopRite LPGA Classic supports so much in the community, and I look forward to teeing it up at Seaview in June. Being part of Team ShopRite helps further the mission that they have set forth to elevate women’s golf and supporting charities.”

ShopRite continues its decades-long tradition of supporting women’s golf and giving back to community-based organizations through the ShopRite LPGA Classic. About Seaview
Set on 670 acres of Galloway, N.J., coast and woodlands, Seaview is home to two world-class golf courses and a 296-room hotel. The Bay Course opened in 1914 and was designed by Hugh Wilson and Donald Ross. The 6,300-yard layout is less a test of length, and more a test of imagination, accuracy and short game. The Bay Course presents a Scottish-links feel, dramatic seaside views, deep pot bunkers and small undulating greens. It is the current host of the ShopRite LPGA Classic, as well as nine holes of the 1942 PGA Championship.

The Pines Course opened in 1929 and was designed by William Flynn and Howard Toomey. Unlike the Bay Course, the Pines winds its way through New Jersey woodlands, presenting elevation changes and bountiful doglegs. The course measures 6,800 yards, and it features large bunkers and expansive, sloping greens. The 16th hole was the site of Sam Snead’s miraculous 60-foot chip-in to win the 1942 PGA Championship – his first major.
