Soleta Golf Club earns Golf Inc. magazine’s Development of the Year accolade

Myakka City, FL (June 4, 2025) — Soleta Golf Club, the private golf and residential club community located near Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch, was named the runner-up recipient of Golf Inc. magazine’s annual Development of the Year contest. The heralded course was designed by Hall of Fame golfer Nick Price and opened for play December 2024.

In selecting Soleta Golf Club from a competitive list of contenders for the 2025 honor, the Golf, Inc. judges remarked:  “With a stunning design and serene setting, this golf course features endless native areas that soothe the soul.  Once fully matured and built out, Soleta is sure to become a favorite destination for many.”  It also was noted that almost every facet of the course was designed to have as little impact on the surrounding environment as possible, and much attention was paid to the preservation of wetlands.  There is no rough anywhere and shots that miss the fairway land in native sand.

“We are honored to have Soleta recognized by Golf Inc. magazine with this significant award,” said General Manager, Mark Rummings. “This is a great accolade that will further enhance the club’s reputation in Florida and nationally.”

The 7,400 yard, par-72 Soleta Golf Club course is routed separately from the location of a planned 93 luxury residences and many other amenities.  Holes wind through the undisturbed sanctuary-like land and water conservation also was a critical issue, as was the enhancement of wildlife habitat and sound environmental stewardship.
