DALLAS (June 25, 2025) – The Dominion Country Club, a longstanding and esteemed club in the San Antonio area for more than four decades, has recently completed a multi-million-dollar renovation. This transformation has significantly improved member dining and gathering spaces, in addition to upgrading numerous recreational amenities.
The family-centric club—long known for its warm, welcoming environment—has created new dining experiences by expanding and reconfiguring spaces throughout the Spanish-style clubhouse, achieving a modernized Spanish aesthetic.

“We are committed to ensuring the Club remains a primary focus in the San Antonio community by creating a welcoming environment for member connection and relaxation,” said Blake Walker, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Arcis Golf, owner of The Dominion Country Club and the second largest owner and operator of 70 private, resort, and daily fee clubs in the United States. “These upgrades give the membership even more reasons to embrace this club, including additional opportunities to enjoy the best private club experience in the area.”
The Copper Room, formerly dedicated to banquets, now serves as the main member dining hub. New finishes and decorative lighting cohesively connect dining to the existing bar and lounge. Large panels divide the spaces, complementing the dining room with Spanish motif patterns. This well-designed configuration provides intimate dining vignettes while also accommodating groups. The color palette unites public and member spaces with warm neutrals, blues, and rust tones.
The reimagined 19th Hole bar and lounge, an exclusive adults-only retreat, offers cocktail and soft seating to encourage social gathering and conversation. The color palette remains warm and complements existing stone and hand-painted ceiling features with neutral tones accented with rich hues of blue and terracotta.
As part of the transformation, Dominion has introduced a new culinary concept where tasteful fusion derived from clean, sourced ingredients delivers culture in every bite. Members and their guests can indulge in exceptional dining experiences, exclusive wine dinners and tastings, lively ladies’ nights, and signature celebrations, none more dramatic than the yearly Fourth of July festival and fireworks show. Members also look forward to standout events such as the annual Taste of Dominion, a culinary fundraising event in support of local charities.
In addition to these interior upgrades, the club’s robust outdoor recreation options also have been elevated. Eight tennis courts were resurfaced, while new pickleball amenities were added. At the club’s popular Junior Olympic-sized pool, new patio furniture provides perfect opportunities for gathering while the kids play.
Dominion features an impressive fitness space with all-new Freemotion equipment and a mood-lit studio for energizing group classes. For health and wellness aficionados, the club offers an array of fitness classes—including Tabata, Pilates, Bands & Balance, and more—plus rejuvenating Sunrise Yoga sessions and community-focused events such as the Breast Cancer Run in partnership with Susan G. Komen. Club members further enjoy a year-long schedule of social, lifestyle and wellness activities with a calendar of events that celebrates community, connection, and personal well-being, a hallmark of Arcis Golf clubs.
Situated along the banks of San Antonio’s Leon Creek, the world-class golf course is rich in golf history and once was home to a PGA TOUR Champions event for five years with a winner’s list that includes Texas legend Lee Trevino. Designed by former Texas Open winner Bill Johnston, the 260-acre layout was sculptured to complement the graceful contours of the Hill Country. Recently, all bunkers were renovated and top-of-the-line E-Z-GO golf carts are in use for members.
An exceptional practice area provides Dominion golfers with target greens at various yardages, a re-grassed short game area, and an expanded range tee.
An industry leader in providing inventive programming and unrivaled lifestyle amenities that complement exceptional golf offerings, Arcis Golf has invested more than $150 million in the past four years on property upgrades, new amenities, personnel, training, and systems to create extraordinary experiences and forge emotional connections with members and guests. The company has received numerous honors, including a National Golf Foundation “2025 Top 100 Businesses in Golf.”
