GolfPass shares inspiring story of giving with golf legend Jack Nicklaus in new episode of ‘Tee To Dream’

Host Cheyenne Woods visits with Jack and Barbara Nicklaus to learn about their Play Yellow initiative and shine a spotlight on golf’s ability to change lives

ORLANDO, Fla. (July 30, 2025) – In a moving new episode of Tee to Dream, host and professional golfer Cheyenne Woods sits down with golf icon Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, to explore the heartfelt origins and remarkable impact of their charitable initiative, Play Yellow. The episode is streaming exclusively on the GolfPass website and app.

Launched in 2019 in partnership with the PGA TOUR, Play Yellow empowers golf fans to transform their love for the game into meaningful support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The initiative was inspired by a young friend of the Nicklaus family, Craig Smith, who battled a rare bone cancer in the late 1960s and wore a lucky yellow shirt to cheer Jack on during tournaments. Yellow became Nicklaus’ signature color on Sundays, a tradition that lives on through this charitable movement. The Nicklauses have helped raise over $130 million for children’s hospitals across North America through Play Yellow.

In this emotional episode, Woods spends a day with ZaLayaa Jahzara, a resilient young girl with physical disabilities who found strength through golf. Her story exemplifies the healing and transformative power of the sport, as well as the lasting impact of the Play Yellow initiative.

"Tee to Dream highlights the power of golf to unite communities and uplift lives," said Woods. “This episode with Jack, Barbara, and ZaLayaa is a beautiful example of what happens when passion meets purpose.”

The Tee to Dream series shines a spotlight on inspiring stories of some of the biggest names in professional golf who are using their charitable platforms to uplift underprivileged young people and transform communities through the power of giving. Available episodes also feature Notah Begay III’s NB3 Foundation and Ryan Palmer’s Brighter Smile initiative.
