Florence, Ariz. (August 7, 2025) – Poston Butte Golf Club, an 18-hole daily-fee facility in Florence, Ariz., recently welcomed Paul Besecker as the new general manager. Besecker will oversee all elements of Poston Butte Golf Club, including golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage and sales/marketing.
Besecker has 20-plus years of golf operations and hospitality industry experience. He most recently served as general manager/director of golf at Bear Creek Golf Complex in Chandler, Ariz. He began his career in golf at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Fla. serving as the tournament sales coordinator and as an assistant golf professional before moving to Shadow Ridge Golf Club in Palm Desert, Calif. to be the associate golf professional/golf operations manager. In 2016, he relocated to the Phoenix area and served as the golf and sports sales manager at The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park.

A PGA Class A Professional, Besecker is fluent in both Spanish and English. He attended Arizona State University and holds a degree with an emphasis in operational management from the Golf Academy of America in Altamonte Springs, Fla., where he received high merits for his playing ability and awards in teaching and player development.
Located in Phoenix’s Southeast Valley, Poston Butte Golf Club features an 18-hole Gary Panks-designed championship golf course, a practice range and putting green and the Anthem Grille. Part of the Anthem at Merrill Ranch development, Poston Butte opened for play in 2007 and is named after the nearby landform. Golfers get a glimpse of the historic fire temple resurrected in the 1800’s by Charles Poston from an Apache ruin on top of the butte.
