Malcolm DeMille proudly continues its legacy of excellence in trophy craftsmanship, delivering stunning works of art for two prestigious golf events this past weekend: the PURE Insurance Championship and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship.
At the PURE Insurance Championship, Doug Barron secured his fourth PGA TOUR Champions title with a flawless final round, firing a bogey-free 67 to edge out Vijay Singh by a single stroke. Barron received the event’s signature trophy, an elegant bronze sculpture by Malcolm DeMille depicting Arnold Palmer passing the game to the next generation. This meaningful design beautifully reflects the tournament’s mission to foster learning experiences that build inner strength, confidence, and resilience in youth.
In addition to the champion’s trophy, Malcolm DeMille crafted bronze replicas for the Pro-Junior and Amateur Team winners. Julio Rodas-Rhim of The First Tee Metropolitan NY, paired with Pro David Bransdon, and Margaret Kerr of The First Tee Greater Houston, teamed with Pro Steve Alker, earned their replicas through outstanding play. Rich Petit and Avie Tevanian also took home trophies as the winning amateur team. Congratulations to all the champions!
Meanwhile, on the Korn Ferry Tour, John VanDerLaan captured his first title at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, finishing three strokes ahead of the field. His victory was commemorated with a striking nickel-plated trophy designed by Malcolm DeMille. The piece features butterflies from the tournament’s logo fluttering around a pin adorned with the Korn Ferry Tour emblem. Each butterfly was hand-colored with epoxy in the tournament’s signature blue, showcasing unique patterns and exemplifying Malcolm DeMille’s renowned attention to detail and artistry.
