BELLEAIR, Fla., Oct. 20, 2025 – Northwestern All-American Lauryn Nguyen will compete against the world’s best professional golfers as a sponsor invite at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, taking place Nov. 10-16 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla.
Nguyen, a two-time All-American and a member of the 2024-25 NCAA women’s golf team national champions at Northwestern, will make her LPGA Tour professional debut at The ANNIKA.
Gainbridge® selected Nguyen to compete in The ANNIKA because of her play on the golf course during her NCAA career and her philanthropic initiatives. She hosts the Nguyen Junior Amateur in her hometown of Seattle that gives back to local organizations, and manages the Duc Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to give scholarships to kids in need.
Tournament officials announced last week that Clark will be returning to The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican for a second consecutive year and is scheduled to play in the Wednesday Pro-Am on November 12. Nguyen will join Clark in the Wednesday Pro-Am.
“I love that Gainbridge® is providing this opportunity for Lauryn to compete in The ANNIKA and chase her dreams of playing against the best players in the world,” said Clark. “I look forward to teeing it up with her in the Wednesday Pro-Am and cheering her on during tournament week.”
“I’m speechless. This is so amazing that I will be able to start my professional career playing in a pro-am with Caitlin Clark in a tournament named in honor of Annika,” said Nguyen. “I’m super thankful to Gainbridge® for believing in me. I’m so excited to get to meet her and make my LPGA Tour debut.”
“Caitlin Clark has been a tremendous brand ambassador for Gainbridge®in elevating women’s sports,” said Mike Nichols, Group 1001 Chief of Sponsorship Strategy and Activation. “We look forward to welcoming Caitlin and Lauryn to The ANNIKA in November as we continue to shine a spotlight on women’s sports.”
At the recent ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M, Annika Sorenstam formally extended an invitation to the entire Northwestern women’s golf team to be her guests at The ANNIKA in November.
Nguyen capped off her college career at Northwestern in May by contributing to Northwestern’s first-ever NCAA women’s golf team championship title. During her career at Northwestern, she was a two-time All-American, a four-time Academic All-American and four-time All-Big Ten selection. During the 2024-25 season, she led the team with six top 10 finishes, including a victory at the Silverado Showdown and contributing to Northwestern’s 2025 NCAA Team Championship. She concluded her career at Northwestern with the lowest career stroke average in program history (minimum 75 rounds), carding an average of 72.42 across four years.
Nguyen joins Wake Forest Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen as the tournament’s first two sponsor exemptions for The ANNIKA. Den Dunnen received the tournament’s first sponsor exemption as a result of Wake Forest capturing The ANNIKA Intercollegiate in September, where a member of the winning team received a sponsor invitation.
The ANNIKA, Tampa Bay’s annual LPGA Tour event and the penultimate event on the 2025 LPGA Tour schedule, is hosted by World Golf and LPGA Hall-of-Fame member Annika Sörenstam and taking place Nov. 10-16 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla. The tournament will offer a $3.25 million purse – one of the largest outside the major championships – with proceeds from the tournament benefiting the ANNIKA Foundation.
Nelly Korda captured her seventh LPGA Tour win in 2024 and third win in four seasons at The ANNIKA (2021 and 2022) by three strokes at 14-under par. Lilia Vu captured her fourth LPGA Tour win at The ANNIKA in 2023, with Sei Young Kim winning the inaugural event in 2020.
