Bucknell Golf Club welcomes new general manager

Lewisburg, Pennsylvania (February 26, 2026) – Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania is pleased to welcome Robert Birk as the club’s new general manager. Birk will oversee all elements of club operations including golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage, membership services, and sales and marketing for the university-affiliated facility.

Birk brings 20 years of experience in golf and hospitality management to Bucknell Golf Club. Most recently, he served as general manager at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, where he led daily operations and elevated the overall guest experience. Throughout his career, Birk has held leadership roles at Pocono Manor, Eagle Rock, Glenmaura National, Jack Frost National, and Dauphin Highlands. During his tenure at Jack Frost National, the facility was named Facility of the Year by Billy Casper Golf, and Dauphin Highlands was nominated for Facility of the Year during his leadership.

A CMAA Professional Member, Birk is passionate about hospitality-driven leadership and continuous professional development within the club industry. He is a graduate of The Golf Academy of America, where he completed advanced studies in club fitting and accounting.

Originally from Mountaintop, Pennsylvania, Birk currently resides in Drums, Pennsylvania with his spouse, Daneen. He enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, traveling, and engaging in competitive gaming. He credits his parents, Robert and Joyce Birk, and his sister, Jennifer, for fostering his strong work ethic and passion for service.

Originally established in 1930 and designed by noted architect Emil Loeffler, Bucknell Golf Club is recognized as one of the premier collegiate-affiliated golf facilities in the region. The 18-hole, par-70 layout serves as the home course for Bucknell University’s men’s and women’s golf teams and has hosted numerous competitive events, including U.S. Open local qualifiers. The club features a welcoming clubhouse atmosphere and the popular 1846 Grill Room, offering indoor and outdoor dining for members and guests.
