Reading Country Club to celebrate 103rd anniversary with community open house

Reading Pa. (March 3, 2026) – Historic Reading Country Club will celebrate its 103rd anniversary with a Community Open House on Friday, April 11, 2026, beginning at 12 p.m. The free event is an opportunity for the community to tour the newly renovated Club and experience all it has to offer, including the beautiful golf course, plus multiple dining and event venues. Event vendors will be in attendance with free giveaways and raffles; specialty drink and hors d’oeuvre samples will be served from Jack’s on the Green (the Club’s scratch kitchen); a dual-bay Trackman simulator competition; plus, the exciting debut of the newly renovated bridal suite.

In 2024, Charles, David, and Michael Gulati purchased Reading Country Club (a public/daily-fee golf, dining and event facility) from Exeter Township. The Gulati family has since funded and led an extensive renovation effort focused on modernizing the property, while still honoring its historic charm. The clubhouse is now one of Berks County’s premier wedding and event venues. In October 2025, Troon, the leader in golf-related hospitality management, was selected by the Gulati family to manage golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage as well as sales and marketing.

The Open House will also include the debut of Jack’s spring menu, drink and dining specials, as well as exclusive day-of membership signup discounts. Free rounds of golf will be awarded to the first 10 new pro shop visitors on April 11th. Whether you’re planning a future celebration, considering a Club membership, or simply looking to enjoy a beautiful spring afternoon, the Open House is the perfect opportunity to explore the Club in full bloom.

“Reading Country Club holds such a special place in our community,” said Reading Country Club Co-owner Charles Gulati. “We’re excited to show off the improvements we’ve made and kick off the 2026 golf season at the Club.”

About Reading Country Club
Chartered in 1922 and opened in 1923, Reading Country Club’s 18-hole, par-70 golf course was designed by Alexander Findlay. The 6,120-yard layout delivers a thrilling blend of playability and challenge, inviting golfers of all skill levels to test their game on a course that rewards strategy and precision. The Club’s original stone building (the Bishop House) dates back to 1761 and once included a French and Indian War-era fort. After a fire destroyed the early clubhouse wing in 1930, a new Tudor Revival-style clubhouse was completed in 1931, designed by local architect and club champion Harry Maurer. In 2018, the clubhouse and golf course were added to the National Register of Historic Places, solidifying the Club’s national significance.
